It's evening call, spending time together, going to each other's place to have more than sex but to eat together, hang out, share a hobby, vacation together, share savings, get a shared place, start decorating, pop a few kids, etc. What makes you think anyone would enjoy phone spam while in a relationship. You would label a guy doing that "clingy" or "overwhelming", or "too intense".
