the steel mill is very dangerous because of the molten metals, toxic dust in the air, and high temperatures
the pig farm smells awful, you'll be sweaty, and the pigs may try to attack you (300lb ones too) because they hate being caged up all day

>steel mill pays $50,000/yr
>pig farm pays $45,000/yr
>(USD)

steel mill, i wouldn't want to deal with animals as a job.
>>
on one hand i get to kill pigs
on the other hand pigs will eat me
on the third hand pigs will eat me if i don't kill them
will steel eat me? didn't think so. it's my moral imperative to slaughter as many pigs as possible before they eat humanity. i saw spirited away. i know what they do.
>>
>>84315516
probably the steel mill i'd likely get hurt but i hate dirty shit i used to be a dishwasher and janitor and hated it
>>
>>84315516
100% the steel mill. First of all it's metal as fuck. Secondly steel mills these days are pretty damn safe, at least in the Western world, and most people who work at them aren't even close to the really dangerous shit. Also IRL they pay way better than that, at least after the first few years.

My grandfather worked at a steel mill in the prehistoric preboomer times and then died of lung cancer before I was born. But of course he also smoked over a pack of cigarettes a day.

>>84315525
It's not so much that it's dirty and you work in a bowser castle but it's loud as fuck. If I was a dishwasher I'd lose my hearing for nothing. And also the coworkers are always universally utter faggot retards

>will steel eat me?
the steel itself? no
the equipment that creates the steel? liveleak.com
>>
>>84315547
liveleak probably has more videos of pigs eating humans than steel equipment but i see your point. pigs do eat bodies. it's a great way to get rid of them. they yearn for that human flesh.

Steel mill. I'm an electrician and I've done both industrial and agricultural work. Industrial is generally pretty comfy. Agricultural is awful, only thing worse is low-end residential. (Comfiest electrical work is doing office buildings and such.)

the best way to do those jobs is to autismaxx so making dirty things clean tickles a part of your brain that would otherwise be used to 100% carpetcleaning simulator 9001

>toxic dust in the air
Respirators exist. I live in a family of miners. All of them, except one, have lung issues including black lung, which include the ones who did not smoke. Want to know what the one who didn't get lung issues wore? Yes, the company provided respirator. Yeah, he was made fun of wearing it. Guess who isn't laughing now because they're coughing and oxygen dependent while the one who did is still fit as hell having zero issues with his health other than some mild hypertension.

steel mill. pigs smell awful, all livestock smells awful actually. idk how people who work those jobs deal with the smell, they must get so used to it they dont realize how awful it is

>they must get so used to it they dont realize how awful it is
That's exactly what happens. It's the same with all other jobs that smell terrible. You just become nose blind with it.

t. used to wrangle incontinent tards and had to change their diapers
>>
>>84315624
havent seen the tard wrangler meme in a long time 10/10
>>
>>84315624
at some point you just get used to the scent of human and animal piss and shit everywhere, mostly because if you ever bring it up people scream at you about how THEY don't notice it so shut up.

t. used to wrangle incontinent dementia'd and disabled family members and change their diapers. and incontinent dogs. they also had diapers. we cut little holes for them in the ass of human baby diapers because doggy diapers were too expensive.
>>
>>84315629
The one who made the term probably got it from me. There was another anon around that did the same.

>>84315631
The screaming is the worst part. Are you the other anon that used to talk about this stuff? I sometimes miss the tard wrangling. Though, this midnight shift security is so much better in every way.
>>
>>84315642
probably not, this is about my own family and thankfully all three primary antagonists here died within the past few months so the house no longer smells constantly of piss, shit, and blood and i am no longer being kicked in the stomach and slapped in the face as a cruel evil cunt (yes, but not in this particular moment) for trying to get a 90 year old woman to stop sitting naked in her own shit.
>the screaming
god, the sundowning was awful about this and so was when they got angry and started smashing shit and screaming for police, security, HELP HELP HELP literally anyone while not being able to speak coherent english because they think it's 1954. how bad was it as a tard wrangler? at least these ones could once, theoretically, understand what was happening.
>>
My dad lost 3 fingers at a steel mill and witnessed 4 gruesome deaths and 1 gruesome injury but on the other hand my uncle got pork poisoning at a pig farm he worked at from an open wound
I think I'll choose the steel mill
>>

>trying to get a 90 year old woman to stop sitting naked in her own shit
What the actual fuck. Ever consider making videos about this stuff? Not for money or shits and giggles, but I think the people deserve to know.
>>
>>84315685
well she's rotting in the ground now so that would be slightly difficult. i have filmed horrific shit before though and tried to show people who had local authority to do something. they just turn their heads away and say they don't want to know or don't need to see and then accuse you of having a victim narrative and needing to less ungrateful and support others more.
>>

I see. There was another anon that I was posting about our adventures of tard wrangling years ago. I got this security job now for 4 years. You likely had it worse for it being family. I never had to deal with it as a family issue. The ones who did have those issues like dementia were when I was way younger and didn't really understand it. I knew they had it, but I didn't now what truly went on. My great grandmother eventually had to be put in a care home when people couldn't take it any of what you experienced any longer.

Tard wrangling wasn't really that bad. Most actually had no issues. Granted, I was on midnight shift, but I did deal with them since I was on four 12-hour shifts. The only one I had a problem with was the one who would take off his clothes, grab his shit, and smear it everywhere trying to draw. Dealing with him was a pain. The others would let you know when they went, or the few who was wheelchair/bed bound and not verbal, you can just see it in their face. If you ask about them being toilet trained, there always was some reason they couldn't, whether physical or psychological. There were a few that was toilet trained and there wasn't any problems other than the occasional meltdown. Even during those, if you just left them alone, they'd calm down.

I always liked the new staff who would come in, stay for an hour, then turned around to never come again. If you saw them later, they'd always say that isn't what they signed up for. I'd have to tell them that it was in the job description.
