"Trans" has been co-opted by covert narcissists. 'Back in the day' they were weird obviously but a lot of them either knew exactly how weird it was and did it anyway because it was a compulsion they couldn't help, or they were basically schizos. These people went "I think we should be treated better", and a lot of normal people shrugged and said yeah alright whatever, just don't be a freak. But give an inch and someone is going to try to take a mile. The more people talked about 'trans rights' the more "progressives" white knighted them. The more a group is defended without any consideration for the specific person in question and how awful they are, the more sociopathic freaks try to wriggle their way in to use it as cover and to get access to the things they want. 'Looksmaxxing' has always been a thing and a specific kind of guy doing it has frequently found he was too much of a shithead to keep a relationship and couldn't get attention from just posting pics if he wasn't absurdly hot, so they started farming attention from gay men despite being repulsed by them - because attention is so fundamentally important for them to maintain stability.
Most trans people are the newest iteration of this. There is no compulsion to be a woman. There is no desire to 'act as a woman', and now they don't even pretend to. It's literally just about attention and getting a free pass to act like an amoral stain knowing that other people will defend you to death because you're a "heckin wholesome transbean just trying to be happy : )"
All that said, no one is attracted to men as much as a gay man is, so if you can find a flamer twink who is actually trans, that's the best way to find someone who's actually crazy about you. Shame being gay is so accepted now few of them ever consider transitioning.
