Need advice how to proceed here. Within the last few weeks a loud intermittant electrical humming noise has been permeating the flat coming from the shared wall with the indian neighbours who live next door. Their kitchen backs onto my living room but this humming noise can be heard in literally every room in my flat when its 'on'. It's loud enough to be annoying.I want to say it's their central heating that is causing it and that they've had someone out to put a new boiler in recently or something but I'm just assuming all that.They're both council properties. Now I don't speak to these neighbours because they're full blown indian and I have nothing in common with them. But the humming noise is happening frequently enough that I think I will need to do something about it. What I would like to do is report it to the council and have them deal with it, without having to speak to my neighbours. This seems fairly reasonable yeah? Do you think the council will contact them or have a look on their systems to see if their property has had work done recently or something?I need to do something about this humming noise. The humming has stopped so I'm not knocking their door today. I can't do it while the noise isn't on that will just muddy the waters. I know that I need to talk to them and accept that I am a spineless worm for being afraid to do so. But I'm not doing it today. It makes more sense to do it when the humming is active, that way it will be fresh in their minds whatever appliance they've just turned on.
