Why is nostalgia now politicized? I remember in 2012 that nostalgia was apolitical, then 2016 hits and suddenly it's a partisan topic. What the hell happened?
>>
>>84390474
you would be asking this if you didn't already know about fascism nostalgia
>>
>>84390482
"fascist nostalgia" is just being "nostalgic" over shit you never experienced, like the Yugoslav wars, with a VHS filter and Little Dark Age playing in the background
>>
>>84390474
Why do I see so many people with that ugly bug-eyed style of profile picture posting in the same generic obnoxious style? Are these bots or something?
>>
>>84390474
Progressives do not like people enjoying the past because it makes people aware that their policies (gay marriage, 3rd wave feminism, DEI) haven't lead to a better life for most people. The goal of progressivism is to never stop progressing, and the moment you do you are betrayed and cast out for lack of zealotry. If you don't want illegal immigrants to get welfare and trans kids to take hormones you are a Nazi incel chud bigot etc etc.

>2008 conservative being the same as now
>2008
>Bush in power
>Bush who implemented PEPFAR, which Musk dismantled
>Bush who didn't throw around retarded conspiracy theories every 5 minutes, didn't put a hippie nutjob who collects animal penises in the HHS, didn't deny election results etc
Well I guess he was still obnoxiously pro-Israel so maybe that's all that ultimately matters for being a cuckservative?

He probably means Ron Paul conservatism. Bush wasn't a conservative.

>gay marriage and DEI haven't lead to a better life for most people
>policies meant to improve the lives of minorities didn't improve the lives of the majority
woah
>>84390570
By and large, the cultural and social views of modern "conservatives" are the same as that of a moderate liberal/centrist during the Obama administration.
People who were "conservative" by 2008 standards are "literal actual nazis" by 2026 standards. Well the left calls everyone nazis, but you get what I mean.
>>
>>84390570
No need to throw around conspiracy theories when you're the one doing them. 9/11 the Iraq war, Bernie Madoff, and the subprime mortgage crisis come to mind. But the media wasn't so virulent at the time. It was cool to be a leftist once.

Yes it has.

Thanks for not reading the full sentence jackass

Plus gays still have 3x the sui rate of normal people despite it now being federally "legal" (many states had already had civil unions for a decade or more)

To most gays and anyone not a gay, this didn't change their life, yet gets touted by progressives like it's the invention of penicillin or some shit.

Nostalgia for me is anytime pre-2023. My life went to absolute shit after my dad died.
>>
>>84390670
This is stupid. Correlation =/= causation
>>
>>84390474
A sense of hopelessness and pessimism about the future coupled with an idea that has plagued political movements in recent times about going back to those times when there was more stability.

Politicians didn't need to speak like that in the past, now they do.
>>
>>84390768
It's less than a rounding error. People who did not kill themselves went down by half a percent. There is no way their value justifies the extensive harm that is a direct result of gay marriage.

>Why is nostalgia now politicized?
The world wide web was made by Americans for Americans (and a handful of European/Australian early adopters. Japan kept to itself.) Particularly younger nerdy Americans who don't join the Klan nor live anywhere near a nigger ghetto.

Before 2012, internet users didn't give a diggity-dog-fuck about race. We were all young nerdy white guys/gals doing our thing and having fun.

After boomers got online, we never stopped hearing about race or politics. Their entire lives revolved around living in a red state or how racist they are. Now the third world is online and they're joining in the boomer race-fight and it's just fucking shitty, dumb, angry conversations where no matter what the content you have to shoe-horn in race or Donald Trump to get likes from retards.
>>
>What the hell happened?
Some of us learned more about our childhoods in the 90's and realized we just had the nostalgia goggles on too tight when we were reminiscing a decade before. Life has always sucked and that inherent bias to see only the good is a bitch to overcome.
>>
>>84390670

Yes but it's not worth allowing them to do it, now they can legally traffic Ukrainian children to rape them
>>
>>84391955
>IT ALWAYS SUCKED BRO THERE WERE NEVER ANY GOOD TIMES AT ALL AT ANY POINT IN HISTORY
COVID and the economic stagflation that came after instantly disproves this. Even the 2010s were better than this hellscape of a decade we're living in right now.

>uhh chuddy those times weren't real even if you have physical evidence that they were, that's just le fascist propaganda
>>
>>84390618
Why should le minorities (that didn't even exist or weren't in the country before) have primacy
>>
>>84392968
Yh easier to graduate and get jobs now its a circus
>>
>>84392444
Could you explain your irrational belief that it legalized rape?
>>
>>84390670
That's obviously because way more people are counted as "LGBT youth" than before. Enough to account for a 4% difference, on a number still more than 3 times that of the normal.
>>
I have massive nostalgia for a time when antiwoke wasn't a thing. I'm much more tired of antiwoke than I've ever been of woke.
Woke never even made it to my thirdie country, and now we have antiwoke.
>>
>>84391688
if these numbers are accurate does that mean nearly 10% of people who went online were playing wow in 2007? lol
>>
>>84393700
That could be accurate, first big expansion occurred and there was little competition iirc Lord of the Rings Online drop that year and EVE was still a thing but WoW was the king of the hill
>>
>>84393698
If you're white and live in a formerly white country then woke isn't just annoying faggots like the safe edgy "anti-woke" people who won't talk about how it's just poz and anti-white stuff from jewish subverison, woke in this country is government law and policy that fucks you out of life opportunities and puts the government's thumb on the scales in deciding the winners and losers in life.
