i've been finding myself at the park a lot, just to speak to the swans and stuff. it's nice and I think of them as my friends but I do wonder how they think a lot. do you think they think in language? or is it just pictures? i do hope they understand me though they're cool as fuck
>>
>>84398756
Dude just don't try to put human characteristics on animals. Even women and men are completely different
>>
>>84398760
that's true, i just hope they think similarly to us because they're cool as fuck and i like talking to them.
>>
>>84398765
they don't, but that's okay
>>
>>84398769
eh i guess. still quite Sad! though. at least they can always listen to me while i feed them
>>
>>84398756
They're pure impulse. They probably don't even have images in their heads or have thoughts the same way we do.
>>
>>84398756
animals have language yes. they probably think in their own language too, i mean wouldn't they have to for things to make sense to them? funnily language-based AI (GOFAI) is not that popular in current year, but it was the first kind that came on the scene.
i'm curious as to why you made this thread.
>>
>>84398777
It's not sad at all, there's nothing wrong with talking to them and enjoying each others company
>>
>>84398756
Animal theory of mind is rather interesting.
But to answer your question they don't think the way we do with a voice in their head narrating things most even intelligent animals aren't predisposed to language even chimps cuz vocal cords and I don't think a single one can read that being said your communication probably gets across they understand pattern my cats know what "Chicken" means for example...and parrots can speak, obviously dogs can be commanded to do all kinds of stuff
>>
>>84398784
>wouldn't they have to for things to make sense to them?
They don't need things to make sense for them. They only feel good or bad.
They don't have a sense of something being weird, the only mystery and curiosity they feel is whether something is dangerous or food.
>>
>>84398795
>with a voice in their head narrating things
i'm pretty sure that's a known sign of insanity anon
>>
>>84398801
>They don't need things to make sense for them.
things feeling good or bad is still a way of making sense of things
>>
>>84398782
that just makes me sad if true.
>>84398784
i really hope thats the case, i like to watch them do regular shit and think that they're communicating with them so how. not sure why i made this post really, just like talking about them and Telling people about my friends
>>84398794
u Right.
>>84398795
yeah my dog used to physically react to saying steak too..
>>84398805
no, most people have a voice in their head. it's called a thought; people typically think in images, voices, both or none at all.
>>
>>84398816
>no, most people have a voice in their head. it's called a thought; people typically think in images, voices, both or none at all.
no, i'm quite certain if you hear voices in your you have mental illness.if you conjure a sentence in your head you are reflecting, however
>>
They think in feelings and the rest is instinct. Just like how we don't have to think of breathing or blinking animals just kind of do shit. If they act kooky it's because some stimulus mixed up their instincts and feelings not because of a higher understanding.
>>
>>84398824
Passive narration is perfectly normal kek. Insanity begins when you are unable to distinguish it from actual voices, schizos for example hear voices and get freaked out and surprised as if someone actually spoke to them. Or maybe the IQ blackpill is true and 40% of humans don't have a passive voice
>>
>>84398915
there is no such thing as "passive narration". prove my wrong by typing out 3 minutes worth of it
>>
>>84398756
They do think in some way but for most it is different than us. Probably much more feeling based. Many are just reactive though. Whales/dolphins, elephants, and some species of birds, have a form of language similar to ours. Dogs and cats can understand human langauge as far as what they need to interact with us, but they don't think like we do.
>>
>>84398824
Not really, no. It's a voice to a degree that I can control, make different voices etc. Doesn't mean I'm insane..?
>>84398838
Shame. Would be cool if they had thoughts.
>>84398915
>40% of humans don't have a passive voice
1 in 10 people lack an inner voice completely apparently, there's a name for it, anendophasia. pretty interesting to read about.
>>84398963
Oh to be one of those animals for just one day to find everything out about them..
>>
>>84398981
>Not really, no. It's a voice to a degree that I can control, make different voices etc. Doesn't mean I'm insane..?
the internal monologue crowd tend to overexaggerate something to the point it becomes something else entirely, but the more you press them on it the more it just becomes thinking of words and sounds
>>
>>84398981
Yeah especially whales or dolphins. Pods and larger groups of pods have been found to have distinct languages. Orca reseachers discovered that Orca pods in different parts of the world have different langauges, they figured this out becuase transient orcas have different vocalizations from resident orcas, transients tend to talk less as well. Transient orcas also hunt differently than resident orcas, and their diets are different. Basically it is different cultures. They also try to avoid each other.
>>
>>84398756
Of course. You don't need language to think. Have you never had an idea you just get before you can actually put it into words?

They are more primitive, have lower impulse control and can't exchange information as effectively, but it's the same wiring underneath.
