reading is for nerds fuck books fuck reading

Less traffic to social media because it's mostly political junk and negativity
More traffic to YT, Netflix, and other video entertainment providers

That's my guess. The chart also starts at the tail end of 2022 which is about when everyone washed their hands of Covid.

i unistalled x because it was genuinely making me negative constantly and angry.
snapchat is dogshit, facebook i have not used since 2008. instagram i have to use but i look at what gets posted and it's just so dogshit. bots everywhere, ai crap everywhere. dogshit
>>
Why are Facebook and Snapchat more stable?
>>
>>84410238
Oops, that was me. I went to the store to buy some milk
>>
>>84410238
Even turbonormies realized the damage that social media can cause. AI is the final nail in the coffin. Nobody wants to see that shit.
>>
>>84410238
>twitter
turned into a bot filled right-wing shithole made for ragebait farming

>tiktok
banned in several large nations like india, china

>ig
extremely boring and old now, provides nothing of use

facebook and snap arent doing too bad because both still appeal to polar opposite demographics. Lots of boomers on FB still and lots of kids still using snap
>>
>>84411745
There's a lot of us boomers on the snapchat too hahaha we gotta get our rocks off somehow!!
>>
>>84410238
Better bot filters i imagine. Getting 10,000 view bot farms on your YT channel used to be really easy back then
>>

>More traffic to YT, Netflix, and other video entertainment providers
there's no evidence to support this. I'm pretty sure netflix just missed a revenue/subscription goal as well

Me too buddy nothing like a first time hairbrush insertion to get me pulling the ol dirty hog for a good 10 minutes after work haha
>>
the weird part is that this doesnt seem to be correlating to increased activity offline in any way. where the hell is everyone?
>>
>>84410238
Same as why posting on 4chan is also slowing down, finally getting rid of the bots.
>>
don't use X because if I want to look at shitpost I just go on 4chan
don't use Snapchat because im older and have a developed frontal lobe
Use Instagram only to keep up with friends and to see what they're up to
Facebook? Pepelaugh.jpeg
Use TikTok for entertainment sometimes.
>>
Because internetis are a shit hole now
>>
>>84410238
Ok, now do public television.
>this is a danger to our democracy
>>
>>84410238
Why would someone want to use a site infested by non-genuine content? They joined the websites to connect with their friends and now their friends have been replaced by AI slop, Bangladeshi bots and sponsored content. The hyper capitalist internet is garbage, the internet and specifically communicating with other people online was much better before corporations figured out how to monitize it. Now everything (including this site) is infested with bots and people being paid to push an agenda and sell things to you, because that's what generates profit for the billionaires that own the government.

The internet isn't declining in activity, it's just that people are leaving those platforms and finding new ones. Just as an example the decline of X here is directly correlated to the increased activity of bluesky.
>>
shouldn't the main app be like, 'web browsers'?

call me old-fashioned but this is like saying 'the internet went into rapid decline in the 2010s' because there was less IRC traffic.
>>
>>84413011
>the decline of X here is directly correlated to the increased activity of bluesky.

good for them, even if that's not saying much.

normies, please, for the love of god:
rediscover traditional, linear forums. no voting/points systems, no algorithms to selectively hide anything. just register with a username + email, and post. web hosting is cheap, the software is open source.

they're apparently aware of a problem that needs fixing, but the solution was there all along.
>>
>>84410238
It's all due to bots being redirected elsewhere, the baseline before 2022 must be lower than the current numbers
>>
>>84413063
Forums fucking suck who gives a shit, they were left behind for a reason
>>
Elon turned twitter into somewhat less of an echo chamber than what Jack's jeets turned it into, and a lot of retards left for troon/pedophile infested fediverse shit like bluesky. Jews got control of tiktok. Those are the only major changes OP.
>>
>>84412142
They're all still scrolling. 2022 was still firmly during the covid lockdown hang over period. The graph shows a "decrease" but really it's probably just a return to pre-covid normal for most apps. People just scrolled more for a couple years
>>
>>84411745
you have no idea what youre talking about. almost every line you wrote is inaccurate. ig is a nazi hangout, and kids dont use snap.
>>
>>84413077
they were active in their heyday, though.

everyone moved to Twitter because...everyone else did. shit.makes no sense.

and anyone with half a brain can tell you all the reasons Discord is terrible. modern features, great. but imagine if there was only ONE IRC server, ran by one company. that was simply how IRC functioned (i know gamers accept this shit with Steam, Twitch, etc. but they're stupid).
>>
>>84410238
It hasn't, we were locked at home during pandemic
Now normies can go outside again so they use less internet.
Twitch was quite ridiculous during that time too, now it's normal
>>
>>84413077
Still better than what you have now.
