Counter-point: Most small men have their shortness internalized and end up slouching all the time, thereby seeming smaller than they truly are. Not to mention, the social stigma about wearing lifts is mostly inside their head, so they think it'd be the cope to end all copes as though they're walking outside on a pair of stilts. I think men focus way too much on how other men are above their eye level and fail to realize that women are still by and large going to be shorter.
