Being a daughter of immigrants really makes you think about how unfair life is.

My dad was an orphan and the oldest son who had to take care of 6 kids during famine and anarchy
My mom was heavily abused and never got to go ti school. She fled via human traffickers as a teen, she had 2 kids at that point.

It really makes you think. They are beautiful, hardworking people but they were fucked from the start. I am so thankful they risked their everything just so that I would have to suffer like that. Whenever people say they hate immigrants I think "they accomplished a jump in wealth so big that people cant fathom it". Going from an orphan and malnourished kid in one of the worst places to live in, to live in one of the best countries to live in, and owning a house... yeah, thats a jump in wealth very few people over the course of human history are lucky enough to achieve.
