Anyone else noticed the phenomenon that discussion on any given topic is of higher quality outside of the board dedicated to said topic.I can't be the only one who has noticed it. Why is it like this?
>>84431267Not always. But outside of the dedicated boards there's less people who know memes and culture surrounding the topic so it tends to take a more serious and nuanced approach.
If you want to discuss the brand new Linux kernel, I seriously doubt the gooners of /gif/ would be a better crowd than /g/, for instance.
circlejerkingIt's not only a reddit thing, there might be no upboats here but because this is still social media, you might still be vying and being less genuine for yous which leads to lower common denominator takes, which retards tend to confuse with "board culture" or "funposts". The impulses are the same in nature, you want to be noticed, you do stupid things that detract from the point.
>>84431267true/his/ is awful for discussing history
>post about books on /lit/>everyone just wants to meme and show off>post about books on /r9k/>only people who actually read books bother replyingsimple as
That is very true anon, to exemplify this allow me to engage in exaclty the behavior described gg/59UvMvjzZY
Nothing is better than /a/ in my opinion, so no
It's because you get more casuals in the conversation and there's more of a give and take to the convo. It's like how sports threads are better on /v/ than on /sp/
>>84431883/a/ is actually terrible for discussing anime. They will legit not post the name of the anime they're talking about and then tell people to watch Boku no Pico when they ask.
>>84432533>newfag outing himself while getting trolledlmao
>>84432533Answering such questions would only lower board quality. If someone doesn't even know what something is how could they have anything worth reading to say about it?
>>84431267Conversation about that topic dries up after a week, and people begin to mock it when they see it too many times, after this people are trained to mock it when it appears. It is not so on other boards, where people discuss it casually. (Re: That monkey experiment where they trained monkeys to beat those who attempted to climb the ladder that led to the bananas, and then removed the original monkeys)
>>84432533go to /wsr/ if you want anime recommendations, although these days they may refer you to chatgpt
>>84431728>pic relis this some kind of pedo discord?
>>84431267No nigger you're not the only one that's been a common meme for literal decades at this point.
>>84431267Mods of their respective boards have given up. In the time it takes for you make an effort posts to actually discuss something, someone else can make 10 low effort troll posts, and the mods just don't care. I'm not even sure /lit/ has mods at this point. /a/ is the only good board because the mods nuke obvious troll posts
>>84431267The people in the dedicated board are more knowledgable but decide to brush it off, the others are dunning kruger Also it's more or less the same reason why agreeing with someone then asking for help never gets you interesting information but if you trigger the right schizo you can get the most obscure niche shit laid out to you both arguments and their counters A to Z
