I want to become an anime youtuber. Please give me what you like and what annoys you about people in the field, so I can do it to the best of my ability.

I love English blondes desu

I like it when you praise anime I like.
I really like it when you praise obscure anime I like.
I like it when you pan anime I don't like.
I don't like it when you are loud and obnoxious and quirky and jump cut every five seconds and use ironic 4chan memes like Fireship and have a reaction face in the thumbnail.

what length for a video is good? does it tick you off when too much time is spent retelling the story, or is that good?

I don't watch anime youtubers (congrats, you forced my hand)
I'd say 10 minutes for regular videos and 30 seconds to 1 minute for youtube shorts. So I'm suggesting you do both.
Maybe a short synopsis at the beginning so people can confirm it's the right anime. And then do a scene recap then analysis, scene recap then analysis, scene recap then analysis structure.
For the shorts, I think you should just hype up a memorable moment in the anime and then tell everyone to watch it (or to not watch it).

just be unapologetic passionate about the stuff you like and the anime you enjoy. be passionate in the cringey and autistic way, even if you are not. it doesnt matter what the topic at hand is about, more often than not ill watch it anyways if i find the creator to have such passionate interest in what they are saying.
also, just dont overall be a moralfag when it comes to "problematic" aspects of an anime. i instantly dislike every anime nigga who does that.

It's pointless like game or movie reviews
The only shtick that works is hating on poorly done content like avgn or moistcritikal
Why would i listen to your queer opinion when i can just read the synopsis or watch it for myself

Game reviews are a different beast. When I'm looking at a game review, all I want is footage of the actual gameplay, to see if I'm interested or not.

When I'm watching anime youtubers (which I never do), I want them to talk about how amazing and wonderful it is and revisit all the best moments. I pretend I directed the anime and the reviewer is licking my boots.

From this, would it not be wise to infer that this is also a negative trait?

I find the purpose of anime reviewers is to give a "sales pitch" to their viewers on why to watch a show. There's no logical reason you should go for a youtuber instead of a trailer, this is true. People want a reason to watch the anime they have before them. I would suggest that this is the primary purpose of youtubers such as Demolition D, even if they don't know it.

"the misanthrope teaches at a school for demi-humans" super shit anime.

I want to see you DESTROYING "cult" animes. It would also be interesting for you to choose an character to be your avatar when you edit the video ig.

>choose an character to be your avatar when you edit the video
this tends to put some people off. I'll have to do research to see if anime viewers tend to prefer it

I assume you mean like one of these folded arms sprites that commentary youtubers used to use
