Problem with introverts they have universal force of social repulsion. There is gravity right. Objects attracts to each other. There is similar social force of attraction people need company so they gather together.
But introvers have strong force if repulsion they are anxious in companies and avoid them consciously and subconsciously. Introverts do have need for social interaction and social attraction but in top of that they have social repulsion force that counters attraction and makes them float away from people.

I should add that there was period when I went to nerd hobby gatherings. I didn't want to it made me swear from anxiety. But I specifically choose to do because I knew sitting all free time at home isn't healthy. For a time it had some funs, and it was good to be around nerds, it gives you common grounds for interaction, going to normies places would be completely impossible for me, zero engagement with them.
Problem with my nerd community it became to turn normalfagy. People moved on with careers, girlfriends and families. And here I am staying loser incel. I was invited to this place of not so losers now but I skipped because I am not a normafag and don't feel to be fitting in
