Everybody gets dementia
Don't believe the stats that say it's like 33% when you're over 85
Everybody gets it at like 70
It's just aging and it doesn't matter how healthy you are
You're just waiting to have your brain turn to mush if cancer doesn't kill you first

Yeah skinks are cool, let's talk about cool reptiles instead. Did you know that sulcata tortoises (largest mainland tortoise species) have a gular horn they use to ram and flip rivals during intraspecific competition? They also have spurs on their hind legs they can use to kick at predators while hiding in burrows.

Nope, sorry retard. My grandma lived to 98 and never had cognitive decline. She could still converse the same as ever, all the way up to the last few days of her life. Sorry you got shit genes.

Liar.
I guarantee she didn't remember some things
Just cause it didn't progress doesn't mean she didn't have dementia

It's normal to get slower and forget things, not to not know where you are most of the time, not knowing your family's names, getting lost around your own home
>>
Not exactly. Definitely not at 70.
The thing is a lot of people die from other shit when they are old, before they can get dementia.
But If you are otherwise healthy then yes, that will be how you die. You get dementia and then one day you forget to drink water for a week or wash your rotting ingrown nails and boom you dead. But generally dementia is 85+ plus thing, if it happens earlier then it is an actual illness, not just aging.

Everyone forgets things?
Human memory has a cap of around 15-20 years. If you are 25 you wont remember your first 5 years anymore. There may be some specific imprints on your mind, like trauma or first love, but generally you wont remember how you yourself were 20+ years ago.

I'm 30 and I have memories of when I was 4

Age-related senescence is not dementia. If you have dementia, you progress alarmingly fast into becoming completely dysfunctional and incomprehensible within just a couple of years. And then you die. There's no such thing as "light" dementia that lasts for 10 years.

This just isn't true my grandpa is 97 and speaks extremely articulated English and we have conversations for hours about every subject imaginable, always telling me stories about his life with lessons or just fir a goof without ever derailing. He's constantly doing puzzles, trivia and is a joyful person content with the life he has lived. My half grandma on the other hand is a murmuring mush and 20 years younger. It's completely genetic.

Stage 1 dementia can last awhile
