I've lived in tiny villages, small town, mid sized cities, and gigantic metropolitan areas, and the denser the population becomes the more people treat eachother like trash. I had lots of friends and girlfriends when I lived in rural places but I've lived in a major city of millions for a decade where I've made zero friends and had zero relationships. Rural folk tend to simply have better values and personality too.

Entropy in the sense of things getting worse as a matter of course (again, in terms of society and human life) is only present in an artificial manmade system that isn't replenished by nature. It's easy to feel like a small town is dying and going nowhere when the people in it restrict themselves to a weird mimicry of city life.
