>Why aren't u delusional maxxing?
Because delusional people are annoying, and I didn't want to be like them.
However with the years comes wisdom, and I think gradually introducing a small measure of "delusion" (specifically baseless confidence or hubris) until the desired level is reached works well. Certainly better than trying to "delusionMAX" and crashing hard into reality.
Maybe reality is like cornstarch and water mix. You got to go slowly if you want to penetrate it.

its the same idea as a placebo. i dont really understand how people delude themselves into believing things because it doesnt seem like a real choice, you cant simply choose to believe in something theres usually something else going on more than a simple choice. you cant choose to feel better when youre sick

I have always thought to be the weak point of stoic and existentialist philosophies.
Always preaching that man is free to "choose" at least his attitude to circumstances and implicitly if he chooses the positive attitude that makes him into something better than other men. Freedom even in the most damned fate.
The madman Nietzsche was more right here I figure. Your will is either strong enough to overcome or not. And even the strongest must learn to love fate, to accept even the most tragic of fates.

stoicism only makes sense if you have immense amounts of power/money and thats why the most famous stoic is a roman emperor. without power stoicism is basically a cuck mindset

A stoic won't stay in the slums anon

I'm never going to forgive what MBTI did to Jung's Sensation types.
Especially the original introverted sensation type, who was literally the stereotypical artist! Never a bland conformist, that's either somebody who doesn't even have a differentiated type, or one of the extraverted rational types minmaxxing their adherence to external systems/values, setting themselves up to get assaulted by the inferior function.

Everything you do that isn't smashing open a creature to devour its flesh is delusionmaxxing. At your core, you're a pile of cells and bacteria that must work in tandem to steal the cells of other creatures in order to fuel your collective mitochondria and keep moving to repeat the process until something steals your cells and you cease to be.

Ideas, dreams, hopes, justice, fairness, etc. Nonsense in the same vein as fairy-tales and religion.

You're playing a role in the grand adolescent tree fort, with rules someone made up about things that don't exist which everyone agrees upon so they may live in the security and camaraderie of the fort.

you gotta be like 10 little homie, not everything eats someething, plants and fungi compete for space sure but they just use the sun for energy. And what's more the mycorrhizal networks show how all the plants and fungi in any given area show that plants work together. And animals play a balance with each other as well. Not saying consumption isn't happening, but that's an idiot level reductive take

I'm not trying to describe the entire web of life, I'm addressing (what I assume are) humans reading these posts.

If you don't fuel your cells you will cease to be very quickly. Humanity pre-agriculture had to keep moving to keep getting more food, they didn't have idle time to make up stories and imagine hierarchies for each other. When we have too much free time we start telling little lies that comfort our brains. Brains which have been active for one million + years scanning our environment for something to eat and didn't evolve to be idle.

Delusion is literally doing anything else that doesn't result in food for you or your tribe. Scribbling symbols down that represent ideas? Telling yourself lies to comfort your own brain because it can't handle the concept of non-existence? All delusion. All cope. All unnatural.

Humans feel out of place on this world because they spend thousands of calories fueling a nonsense meat-machine that makes them crazier and further detached from reality the more they use it. My point is we are all delusionmaxxing by participating in the child's game of society. Performing our little roles in hopes we can feel a tiny fraction of the worth we used to feel bringing home an animal carcass that was literally the difference between our life and death.
