Commercials are inherently evil as they seek to create a sense of desire in their targets. First you were content and satisfied with what you had, then boom commercial, and now you are no longer content with what you have and instead seek to have more. If a piece of visual media sought to arouse wrath in the viewer, it would be called violent propaganda and shamed as such, if it sought to arouse lust, it would be deemed pornography and shamed for being such, but when a piece of media elicits greed and envy it's seen as just another part of the TV scheduling block. Advertisers are in for a rough surprise when they realize that they're going to hell because they're just as bad as pornographers and wartime propagandists, they're just more culturally accepted in the West.

This isn't to say men don't spend money, but guys tend to have a routine expenditure like booze or miniatures that they can't be shaken out of, where women CAN be convinced to spend more money on something new.

Terrible, too expensive, "woke". Books? Everything new is for women. What is there to buy? Most guys just gamble, they don't even drink booze or smoke anymore because those are terrible for you with no return.
