I like to pretend steven universe is a land of the lustrous fanfic. Then it's OK. You can't hold western movies and shows to the same standards as japanese cartoons. American and European TV never tried to be good, just a minimum acceptable level of entertainment quick and fast like McDonald's. It's the no child left behind of entertainment.
Intersectionality is a funny thing, because it inevitably destroys itself. JK Rowling is a prime example of this.
