Why is it so hard to find genuine friends? I had a few friends growing up, but they were shallow and superficial ones that dissolved after school was over.

I had a few coworkers, but they never wanted to anything other than drink.

Why is it so hard to find people who want to do actually fun stuff?

I feel you, I get treated as subhuman by so many people. I made a thread similar about this but I feel blessed by a higher being when people give me basic respect and don't witch hunt me.

It's hard to get the most basic of respect much less a caring deep friendship

Because they just don't exist. It's a myth our media culture sells us on but it's rarely the same in real life. Our modern times have people so tired and exhausted from "work" and careers that they have no energy left to socialize with.

cuz everyone is wary of each other now. As an adult you have to take more initiative when it comes to making friends but with everything going on in the world people just want to stick to familiar places and faces. The weird part is that this is the case for video games now as well. Back then you could just find a random player and hit it off or randomly join a guild and you'd recieve a warm welcome but everyone is nonchalant and avoidant now
