let's say hypothetically should one admit to shrink that they didnt take risperidone and have 5 unfinished packs but when shrink asks if im running out and i get one more. should i admit that im not taking it? it didnt help me anyway. i lost track of how many packs i would use if i did take it so i just say yes i want one more prescribed to keep it real
anons said you dont need to actually take it but maybe keep buying it?
>>84441262if you're currently committed, you shouldn't tell them because they tend to spaz out over that sort of thing.if you're a free man, just tell them it doesn't work and you'd like to stop, omitting the fact that you already have. if you reveal that you've been fucking around for the past however many weeks/months, there's a very real possility your shrink will be unhelpful in the future out of spite. they only prescribe the good stuff to their favorite patients.
>>84441262they dont know i stopped taking my lexapro 6 years ago and just kept my xanax and ritalin script without telling her i ever stopped any i still get my pharmas to this day
Don't. You kill the trust. Here, if you submitt a refill and pick it up, it will show that it did. That is just how things are integrated. Instead, say that it hasn't been working. Maybe then, they'll prescribe you something worthwhile.
>>84441342yeah thats why its scary, maybe ill mention that i would kinda want to stop but im not going to push it>they only prescribe the good stuff to their favorite patients.risperidone raises prolactin lol, i cant believe i took it for some time thats bs that just makes my stomach hurt>>84441359cool
>>84441395>risperidone raises prolactin lol, i cant believe i took it for some time thats bs that just makes my stomach hurtin my experience, every shrink i've seen has prescribed some bullshit pill that doesn't work and has weird side effects first, then after a few months of that they get serious. it's a shit-test/humiliation ritual. most recently it was lurasidone, all that did was give me intense akathisia.
>>84441262https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risperidone>Risperidone, sold under the brand name Risperdal among others, is an atypical antipsychotic used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, as well as aggressive and self-injurious behaviors associated with autism spectrum disorder. It is taken either by mouth or by injection (i.e., subcutaneous or intramuscular). The injectable versions are long-acting and last for 2-4 weeks. Common side effects include weight gain, drowsiness, fatigue, insomnia, dry mouth, constipation, elevated prolactin levels, and restlessness. Serious side effects may include the potentially permanent movement disorder tardive dyskinesia, as well as neuroleptic malignant syndrome, an increased risk of suicide, and high blood sugar levels. In older people with psychosis as a result of dementia, it may increase the risk of death. It is unknown if it is safe for use in pregnancy. Its mechanism of action is not entirely clear, but is believed to be related to its action as a dopamine and serotonin antagonist.so your shrink gave you pills with a moderate list of side effects (yes, this is moderate for antipsychs) and you didn't take them. my question is, what were you prescribed them *for*? because if this was prescribed for some bullshit ASD diagnosis, that's one thing, if it was for schizophrenia or something more serious, that's entirely another.my take, which for legal reasons is neither medical nor legal advice, is to at least try the pills. go get your script refilled, take some of the new meds, take them for a couple weeks and see how you feel. you can bullshit away side effects as they come and either discuss them to get more pills to counteract existing effects, or get different pills to treat the main issue. also, what non-pharmaceutical recommendations were made? they must not have said "yep, here's your script, just go take those and you'll be good!".
>>84441504>they must not have said "yep, here's your script, just go take those and you'll be good!".Nta: that's what most psychs say now-a-days.
>>84441504im not aware if i got diagnosed with anything yet. i just have ASD and OCD but im probably schizo and its not just my imagination but ill ask if im getting diagnosed with anything yet or not>what non-pharmaceutical recommendations were made?i go to a psychologist every week and talk too and the psychologist gives me some small tasks about feelings when certain things happen and when i tell her stuff she takes notes for psychiatrist
