It's been a a sharp decline ever since bush and 9/11. It was probably shitty before that too but I was too young to remember anything from the tail end of the 80s. Apparently in the before times you could ride a plane without an obese sheboon fingering your ass and confiscating a travel size listerine because muh bombs. I know one neighbor that got CPS called on them because their 12 year old was playing in the park unsupervised a couple hundred yards from home. Pokemon and dungeons and dragons were satanic so kids still lived under draconian rules back then. But that was just an iron fist. I don't know what to call the conditions kids today are facing. It's inhumane. My grandfather used to tell me back in his days he'd fuck off in the woods for two or three days a time. You took your gun to school so you could go hunting after. Everyone carried a pocket knife and one of the fun games they used to play at recess was throwing a knife at each other's foot, but not actually trying to strike their foot. If the person moved they had to suck off a stick that was pounded into the ground as punishment for being a scared little bitch.
