When one ran out, you could uninstall it and install another free trial, I guess they were disc key based?By the time they stopped working which was like 2002, the phone companies started offering basic internet and then after that people started buying into cable internet.I remember my mom was completely 100% paranoid and wouldn't sign up for cable until like 2003 or 2004, something like that.I just went to LAN or other people's houses to counter it.I didn't have broadband until I was damn near 18 years old.
