I would want my partner to be a best friend, who I can be so open with and vice versa, but I would want us to have differences so that we compliment each other. For example, I'm an extremely socially awkward person who is uncomfortable making friends. I would like someone who could be sociable in ways I'm not. I know I'm also quite organised, and I feel being around someone like me should, hopefully, in not an unpleasant way, force them to be more organised and tidy.
