>plan on moving to china or japan to teach english and get an azn wife >can't decide if I want to study either languages because the job that I would get there would be teaching in English.>want to talk to qts in either countries with hellotalk but I'm on the other side of the fucking planet so they are always asleep when I'm awake or vice versa.I live near NYC, but I'm a 20 year old jobless virgin. I have a car but that's it and I doubt it's enough to attract a chinese or japanese qt even if I'm white with blue eyes.
>>84547233Can you speak or read chinese or japanese?
>>84547260I can read the hiragana and katakana and some kanji as well as a little bit of chinese. I just lose steam studying it consistently because it's going to be at least another two years before I can move to either country and where I move is contingent on where I can actually get a job.
>>84547233Do you have a degree? You'll need one of those at the minimum. Women are in high demand in China, whereas in Japan they seem to be in surplus as men there would rather work 80 hours a week
>>84547271getting it now, I'm majoring in english because International schools pay double-triple the amount that the ESL positions pay + housing accommodations and food subsidies. I'll be able to live like a king in either country so even if I don't fuck I can moneymax as a gaijin hermit.
>>84547233If you're teaching English, it's because there's a need for it, and you won't encounter that much English in your everyday life. It will 100% make your life outside of work easier and you should study hard. Also, English teaching is often a stepping stone and learning the language better lets you switch to other jobs more easily, though if it's what you want to do long term by all means keep at it.
>>84547233just find a chink here
>>84547282I'll be teaching at international schools so I will be on a campus of filled with english immersion.
>>84547233>>84547281Have you considered teaching english here for a semester or two, something to pad your resume? You live near a lot of Asians who want to learn English
>>84547286No. Anyways, I want to be an english teacher and my best bet given the state of the job market in the NYC metropolitan area is to geomax and make a lot more money in china or japan rather than getting raped by cost of living and food costs here
>>84547289I will probably need two years of 'teaching' experiences to land a job in japan but china will probably take me fresh out of college. Student teaching which is required to become a licensed teacher does count as 'teaching' experience so I could in theory just lie about having more years of experience than I actually do if I really want to go to glorious nippon.
>>84547287Yeah but what about off campus? Don't you ever want to go into town? And if you don't have a job lined up (or want to switch for whatever reason) I know that in Japan, at least, a lot of English teaching jobs will just put you at a random apartment where even your next door neighbor doesn't speak the language. And there are plans to introduce a language requirement for permanent residency. It's just good to know for practical reasons.plus for reading untranslated manga and doujins and stuff.
>>84547233China is a poor developing country. In China, even Europeans without degrees in English education, and even fucking Russians, teach English there. Kek. China is not a systematic and organized society like South Korea or Japan. Furthermore, because Chinese women want to leave China at any time to live in First World countries, if you are a white dude from a First World country like the US or Canada, you can have sex with almost any Chinese woman. But Women in Japan and South Korea will not date you simply because you are white and from the First World.
>>84547309there is already a language requirement for permanent residency in japan but I lose my motivation to study it when the goal is so far off (2-3 years from now) I think I'll be better off getting a job and then learning while I'm there rather than burning out studying it in isolation.
>>84547314the same thing could be said about most inner cities in america.
>>84547315It's always easier to learn when you're there, just wanting to talk to people around you or read signs is a powerful motivatorbut stick with it anyway as best you can.
