How many people are on this site? I swear its dead af and it just keeps getting slower. Theres me chickn and like 6 other people that use this site I swear.
me. i'm trying to fight the attention whores posting on this board, there were many threads today
>>84562995I love sems though she's funny
i mean the only way new people find this place is based on complete misrepresentations of what the site is actually like...... but:Current Users: 233,996
All the boards I use including /b/ are dead./vg/ is extremely slow and /3/ is completely dead.Dead internet theory is real.
>>84562990This place is dead I've seen people say this since 2017
This board is DEAD literally the slowest it's EVER been and YOU killed it
>>84563019This is so sad. This place used to be my home. Now its like. Sad.
>>84562990All my threads just get ignored or i get faggots complaining because my thread is not another "mfw no gf" thread or a porn thread so i gave up on making threads
>>84562990just had this convo with mr. junas about how the zoomers kinda killed the boardlike....... what happened to interacting. :(
>>84562990yes the site is dying
>>84562990OGs are leaving or getting busy and sometimes populations just fade as new options and interests arrive.
>>84563001>most big boards are down to about half of their 2018 traffic according to 4stats.io>somehow MORE users according to the front page now than at that time (https://archive.is/n9BJe)Something is fishy here desu.
>>84563108think of all the people banned and completely okay with not forcing shit onto the boards
Deader than a doornail. Average daily posts on this board are only like 10,000 per day, barely 400 posts an hour. I can't believe the deindexed anime website imageboard listed under NSFW further listed under Misc. and designated as a board with no topic but has an algorithm that will mute users for unoriginal posts gets less daily pageviews than google... what is the world coming to ;_;
>>84563113If you're suggesting that it's just spammers being banned or more effectively prevented from posting in the first place then that is definitely not the case. I remember the rate of non-spam interaction here being much better back then too.
What happened? Do young people now just want to post and consume short-form video content? Are imageboards dying for real?
Imagine an internet where not only this site doesn't exist, but there's no more web except for pages telling you "download our app!". They don't want discussion or thinking, just consooming without questions. It's only going to get worse.
>>84563157Honestly this frfr on god 100 no cap
>>84562990Some of us love Japan, but none of us are in Japan there is not much to talk about
>me>me but using work computer>sheldonposter>mussolini>you
Theres nothing to do on the internet anymore because everything is fake and gay
>>84563185don't forget having to log in with your govt issue ID and biometrics. Not for security, not for "muh children," but for the advertisers
last year's hack was the straw that broke the camel's back. it finally killed the sitei thought 4chan was dead last year ... until the hack happened. then i realized how good we had it. even if it was terrible compared to early 2010s, at least it still felt like 4chan
>>84563136isn't it common knowledge that only like 10% of people even post anything at all and most people lurk?
>>84563291that doesn't terrify you?like that's a very obvious sign of how the internet is now filled with mouthbreathers, third worlders, and ESLsit wasn't always like this
>>84562990I'm still here, but not sure how much longer. This site and the internet as a whole is becoming more unappealing and unusable by the day. It'll only get worse once they start requiring digital ID to access places like this.
>>84563295>internet is now filled with mouthbreathers, third worlders, and ESLswhile you are right about this, they are probably the least likely to lurk, and are more often than not responsible for shitting up a board's culture. But chan culture has become so diffused into normalfag internet, its not seen as a necessity to lurk anymore. back in 2010 I went a year or more before ever posting,
>>84563370lurking has a different meaning now, and that's what i meantwhen we lurked back in the day we were trying to learn the culture before participatingnow, when people lurk, they're not trying to learn anything. they're browsing and scrolling mindlessly. they're too retarded to participate and have no interest in doing soit's not just a 4chan thing either, it's the entire internet. it is terrifying how many people just browse and look at things and never have anything to say (or even think about saying anything). it's the vast, vast majority of people who look at posts (whether it's here, on Reddit, or on normie social media)you're right in saying that the mouthbreathers/ESLs don't give a shit about board culture and participate too much, but they're so great in number that im willing to bet that the very vast majority of them still lurk.again, not lurk like the old definition of lurk. i mean lurk as in "retarded mouthbreather just reading things without anything to say" lurk
>>84563394it has always been like this though. most people in the 00s only talked to people that they knew IRL online. it's probably still like that for a good portion of web users. when it comes to 4chan specifically, a lot of people just think of /b/ (or i guess more recently r9k) so they're just here to get a few laughs, maybe jack off to some hentai, then they're done with the site. that's how i used to use it. i already had places online that i felt comfortable in so i never saw the need to get involved with the community here. and if you're coming here for porn and b you're not even going to see much in the way of a community anyway, so why bother getting involved? 'tourist' is the key word here.but even if you parred the board down to the people who use it every day and want to make HQ contribs, then you're just gonna get an over policed graveyard where nobody has a good time because the idea of a 'good time' is a community that may or may not have ever been there in the first place
Twenty years ago you and most others online had made multiple macros, gifs, and flash animations. Between turning 16 and before turning 17, in that single year you probably produced at least 20x as much content as the average whatever the fuck will ever make in their entire life. I'm not saying most or even any of it was good, but at least it was something. These dumbasses today. If (*if*) they even try, will google for a site to "make memes". Too dumb to open any image software and drop a text box.
>>84563432now we have mememes
>>84563394yeah that's a good point, I wasn't even thinking about lurking like that. The brainrot is real, it goes beyond doomscrolling. its just mindless. Like flashing lights to hypnotize monkeys.
>>84563432>kids these can't even make may-mays no more!watching millenials turn into the exact kind of retarded and bitter boomers they used to mock has been hilarious.
>>84563432this is the sort of content you're mourning? really?
>>84563480Those airplane safety demotivational images were cool
>>84563432You reek of one of those faggots who forgot to migrate to Reddit in the late 2000s and stayed here for whatever reason
>>84563432also the kids these days absolutely are making original content. ever heard of a thing called capcut, unc?
>>84563432a lot of the creative people stopped posting here because they found success for their creativity and no longer need this site to cope with life
>>84562990I really liked april fools when there was only /b/ 4chan felt more 4chan than 4chan
>>84565093That day was like 4chan's swan song
>>84562999nice trips. sems is a cute, yeah
