>one coworker blows his money at the casino every week. literally walked in on him pacing around in the breakroom an hour after his shift functionally ended as he milks the clock until he can go to the casino >other coworker saves his money, then blows it all on a big vacation>other coworker spends at least $200 on fast food, snacks, pizza etc per week, and this is just at work too(but he shares so its ok)>other coworker admitted to spending THOUSANDS of dollars on valorant skins >mother looks me in the eyes with a straight face, telling me she "cant afford the house" as she bears a $17,000 diamond ring on her hand, $200 kate spade sunglasses and a nissan altima that she probably wont pay off for like 10 years fucking embarassingno wonder the average person is broke, theyre retarded
Posturing for social clout is an immense expense for many
>>84563901hey i'm not a normie and i'm terrible with money.
>>84563901>no wonder the average person is broke, theyre retardedyeah
Normies don't see money as a way to save time. They have zero hesitation to buy the newest thing on the shelf.
>>84563901my brother is kinda like this too. most people have a very high floor and low ceiling when it comes to money. very low dynamic range. meaning that they buy small unnecessary things all the time instead of holding out for bigger purchases. its like they dont tolerate having unused money when it can be cashed in for pleasure immediately. cigs, takeout, drugs, buying pointless shit online, gambling etc. the saddest is when they give it to streamers just to "buy" their reaction to receiving their money
>>84563901They like to be victims. Its how 99% of society works. If they have money they must get rid of it so they can go back complaining about the prices and being poor with their social circle. Its why they hate "rich" people. Its a "us vs them" mentality.
>>84563901Saw this all the time at the restaurant I worked at, lol.Buddy of mine at the time was 33 always saying he couldn't afford a car, but would spend $120 every payday on Dragon Ball Z trading cards. The occasional triple-a game too. With other coworkers it wasn't so bad but I'd still hear some nonsense about funko pops or concert tickets every now and then (they were also carless). It's because consoomerism has taken its grasp on the world. Why pursue real goals and better life for yourself when you can live for pleasure and pay only $13.99 + tax. The psychology behind the hedonist trap doesn't really make it easier.
>>84564154>spend $120 every payday on Dragon Ball Z trading cards. Are they at least physical?
"Can't take it when you die, but yall can't live without it."
>no wonder the average person is broke, theyre retardedIndeed. Seems that the wagie life breaks them into desperately spending for a modicum of pleasure. Sadly, even as a NEET, I am guilty of this.I have to train myself to not blow my 'bux on takeaway and beers to get me through another day of this miserable fucking incel existence.
They are very good with money, they just have very different goals from us. Most people have the goal of living paycheck to paycheck. Meaning that over a week, 2 week, or month period depending on how often they get paid they try to get as close to $0 as possible. I hear it all the time, coworkers having conversations like ok I have $8 left and payday is coming up, what should I get? Then they list off silly future landfill filler. Both groups treat it like a game, it's just one is thinking golf rules where lower number is better and others as percents, trying to get their spending down to the lowest percentage of income.
>>84563901>no wonder the average person is broke, theyre retardedyou just answered your own question retard.
Materialism and technology has mind fucked people so hard it's sad to see. I feel like I can't get along with anyone because of this.
