>Sets theme, opens firefox -> save image ass -> the file explorer is not the same I used earlier and it's not the theme I chose.

So... what do I do now to have the "fun" computing experience? Where is the fun?
>>

Maybe Baby Linux should be mandatory for all Linux users, seeing how much of a hissy fit they throw at the slightest inconvenience.

So I'm asking AGAIN
What is FUN in here? WHERE is it?

idk, if linux can't even remember the theme i chose, maybe they are the indians you know?
How hard is it technically to have the SAME file explorer on desktop and in Firefox?

Are you SURE linux is made by high IQ?
>>
>>84565009
I like linux a lot but im forced to use gay ass windows because of work. Might check if i can run a windows VM on a low level on my laptop to do the shit i gotta do from work. Windows 11 fucking sucks.

I just use Linux because my antique can't run modern versions of Windows and I was tired of doing workarounds to make modern software work on older versions of Windows

I would use Linux, but I'm afraid to see what will happen when I try to launch 3D software. I'm pretty sure Zbrush, Substance, 3DS and like every single mod manager and 3rd party software doesn't work on Linux.

Just asking because ubuntu is like, backed up by a literal business yet still can't have such basic things like a consistent theme.

You can rice the shit out of linux but considering the bitchy tone and whining for your hand to be held, I think you're better off sticking to windows
>>
>>84565183
I don't know, it seems like it's the linux users that are extremely bitchy and whiny at the slightest of complain about their favorite os.
I don't know how I'm getting "filtered" when the theme selection and file picked is broken at the very beginning.
>>
>>84565200
they don't do anything with it, they just jack off over the ability to use it. It they actually did anything important on a PC, they would use Windows on at least one device.

You're so right, the problem is linux users and the themes and not you. You should stay with windows.

>>84565214
seems like it. All the replies tell me to "do it myself." Like wtf? Why even make distros if you need to fix them up? I don't want to become an IT service jeet at home, I want to use a computer that works.
Why are they all bitchy when pointing this out?
>>
>>84565218

Why? I'm just asking why it doesn't work and you guys keep bitching and insulting.
What's so high IQ in making a button work correctly?
>>
>>84565247
Why are you so desperate to use linux? It obviously doesn't work and it's not fun. You should stick with windows.
>>
I can usually bullshit my way through most problems with wikis and stack overflow. Sometimes you can get by looking up troubleshooting for other distros with some tweaks. Expect Linux to be janky though.
>>
>>84565271
Maybe I was too gulible and wanted to have the fabled "fun computing" meme experience.

Honestly, if the steam pc/console thingy is running on linux I have low hopes of it not being a buggy piece of shit.

>>84565296
It's just sad that people keep saying it "stable and useable" yet fails at very basic things. And when you point this out, you have to face all of the snarky comments from linux users that for some reason, think having a working button is bad?
Can't they act in a better way to not sour linux's reputation?
>>
>>84565347
Yes, gullible and retarded, which is why windows is the OS for you.
Never download linux again and make sure you tell everyone it sucks and the users are all big meanies.

If you want something that has a consistent, intuitive user experience, similar to how windows was at it's best, while also being impossible to accidentally break, try debian with kde. it's perfect by default. it's what i've used for over a decade. literally nothing ever goes wrong.
>>
>>84565412
Will debian users be as insufferable as those troons above?
Will selecting a theme in the config menu make it work in all apps?

It's like a religion, they make using linux an extension of themselves, of their identity.
"Insult" linux and you insult them, and many of them are autistic and troons. Their thing skin just can't handle the grating revelations of the shittiest OS ever developed.

By contrast, *BSD users actually work in industry and are men and women who "can take the heat".

modern kde is mature and can be used by normal people who don't want to tinker with shit for hours. they've figured out most of the little annoying things by now and made everything easy. its the desktop valve chose to pre-install on their steam deck, which is a device that appeals to tech-illiterate goyim. you won't have to learn the difference between qt and gtk and why it creates issues, instead you select "dark" in the settings menu and it just works across the board. i'm not even that linux-savvy myself, i only have a basic understanding of how things work but that's more than enough here. i use this computer for work and it never pisses me off with retarded bullshit like windows or mac or fedora (gnome) did.

>Here are concrete examples showing that "theme selected but not fully applied" is a real recurring issue on Linux desktops, not user imagination.

On X.11, it was common for a long time that the window server would draw the decorations, like titlebar, buttons and border.

On GNOME with Wayland though, you can use only "Client-Side decorations", or what has been referred to as

But it also means that the control over the titlebar style has been given from the user over to the application. <-----

As said in the title of this issue, the mint theme doesn't apply on these apps. I guess this is related to GTK4.
Not a big issue but harmonization of theming is missing
This is why people coming from Windows or macOS get frustrated. On Linux, "theme" is often not one unified system:

GTK3 theme
GTK4/libadwaita theme
Qt theme
Window decorations
Shell theme
Icon theme
Flatpak sandbox permissions
Kvantum
Wayland/X11 differences
