He returned to Chicago Living in a city is like driving a motorcycle, obviously you can do it properly, but there are two kinds of motorcyclists, one who's been in a collision and one who hasn't been in a collision yet Now, if it was some place like Kyoto, Shanghai, Taipei, Kowloon, etc etc then I'd completely understand, in fact I'd trade my life here for a resident there, but I've always felt that way

The idea that suburbs have inherently less crime than the city was mostly true 50 years ago, but that is no longer the case, you can absolutely point to suburban areas that were once nice but have decayed and are full of petty crime and drug addiction.Likewise there are plenty of neighborhoods in the city that were warzones in the 70s and 80s that are now really, really nice, and people are climbing over each other to try and live there.
