Assuming AI is correct and the average smoke smoke 11 cigarettes a day, but we'll round diwn to 10. Let's assume it's $5/pack. That is $17.50/week. Times that by 52 weeks which equals 910 dollars. For poorfags that need to stretch their income really far, $920 is very significant. But that is just the upfront cost. There are other costs such as sick days (smokers take significantly more sick days/yr), costing them productive workdays, losing them money. So that's a lost of money. That would be covered if they have sick days/PTO, but a loss of that to recover from illness and not for vacation leads to more stress which makes them more likely to be ill.What about insurance? Many plans charge others extra for smokers. There's more costs! They're more likely to take medications due to the shitty effects of smoking, so there's more costs.And this goes on.
