Half the reason I left was because it was too expensive to live on my own, and the job market sucked.It gets more hilly and rural the further inland you go, lots of sandy patches and boulders from ice age glaciers, then it gets swampy in the lower elevation areas. Stone walls and small overgrown cemeteries from the 1700s and 1800s can be found along the back roadsLots of maritime culture and seafood obviously, and lots of Italian-American, Irish-American, and Portuguese-American culture.Tourist attractions consist mostly of beaches, old Gilded Age mansions, and Block Island.

i spent a lot of summer vacations as a child with my family at watch hill. that place is so cozy especially as a kid, its like a cheap version of marthas vineyard, summer beach town. i went back there as an adult and it was filled with trashy people
