>>84595372Those metal poles are used for scaffolding to hold and support the stairs/walkways, the ends have holes where you are supposed to lock them together with pins. If you're going to build something out of them, it needs to be stable. Also the rust and wear can compromise the strength and integrity of the structure you build.
