So, where did everyone go?
I believe most people went to Twitter or Reddit. Even if those sites take a lot of adjusting, there is never enough content to scroll through and there are similar enough communities to fall into. The algorithm just feeds you what's most engaging and most enraging after a while. There's a culture on 4chan that keeps you coming back, but dealing with the worsening captcha, the same unfunny spammer/shills every day, the lack of new content/discussion topics, the spectacular moderation, and exit of good posters all help make the death of 4chan inevitable, beyond the fact that other social medias have perfected being hyper-addictive.
Fun facts:
>/r9k/ today is as fast as /mlp/ in mid-2016, during what was almost universally considered to be the worst season of the show at that point and 4 years after the show's prime
>since 2022, the site's visit rate has roughly halved (corresponding to roughly halving of postrate per 4stats)
>surprisingly, the hack doesn't seem to have had an effect on the postrate despite it showing the lack of basic modern internet security features, giving users weeks to consider using other sites, and overall extreme host incompetence

I gave up reddit because how shitty it is now. No more top of all time, the mods there are worse than the mods here and I can at least call someone a faggot if they are retarded and not get banned for a month across all of reddit for it.

I quit /r9k/ for like 5 years, only came back recently because my life went to shit again and I'm pretty sure I'm fucked for good now. I assume a lot of other anons moved on and didn't fuck it all up.

>So, where did everyone go?
I didn't go anywhere but I imagine anyone with a brain has simply gone anywhere but here.
Who wants to look at utterly repugnant shit like momcest, cutters, britfeel, schizo blogs, FEMSHITS DO YOU POOP and porn spam? Only the freaks who engage in it. Everyone else is repulsed.

On the bright side, 4chan may see a resurgence as AI slop from third worlder content farms take over YT shorts, TikTok, X, and Reddit. 4chan certainly has bots and shills of some kind, but if you see bot posts on other sites, it's glaringly obvious 4chan is almost entirely human, relatively speaking.
>>85085996
You can do that on X now.

The site is still fun even if you're not wallowing in depression. /r9k/ has collapsed but so has /v/, /vg/, /int/, /pol/, all the normalcattle boards.
>>85086018
Filter all generals is basically step 1 for 4chan to be usable. Generals could easily move off to discord and the site would improve overnight.

>Filter all generals is basically step 1 for 4chan to be usable
Then you have to filter all the spamfags who makes 3-10 threads per day about the same boring shit (the Persian TADC faggot, the Mavis spammer, discord eceleb spammers, the Charlie Kirk faggot, the hospital staff guy). Then the random 1 line worthless threads.
There's nothing left on the front page half the time when you hide all the abject trash threads.

The same threads of the same dozen topics got boring, no one bothered with them and moved to their hobby boards. The dull spastics that have no hobbies left. The site as a whole has hundreds of thousands fewer posters. Every month the active poster count drops.
Le epic twolling, le epic bait and having nothing of worth to talk about.

It doesn't matter where they left, they continue leaving because lack of moderation, the site is polluted with homosexual spam outside of >>>/lgbt/

New rules are needed
>>
>>85086132
imagine being so straight that you seek out gay threads with gay porn all day and post in them without fail
>>
The entirety of 4chan unironically got overrun by vapid idiots. You can go into any discussion thread and read a hundred replies of uninteresting nonsense, and any story thread is just the bitter ranting of tards at their wranglers. Before, the site was populated by savants and intelligent but asocial aspies, but now it's all drooling, nonfunctioning mouthbreathers. What's more, the place is browner than ever, and it gets browner every day as the remaining civilized users get disgusted with the site and are driven off.

>but so has /v/, /vg/, /int/, /pol/, all the normalcattle boards.
Yeah, used to like going on /v/ and /pol/ but now it's just faggots blogposting about themselves and it's fucking annoying.
>>
Autists who post the same threads and sentences every day are also killing the site. They should perma ban all of them.
After a while you can't tell what is a bot and what is an autistic person and you stop caring and just leave.
