Remember in like year 2 we went on a trip to some outdoor educational nature place near the school where we could walk through and look at different plants and animals and stuff. They had a tank with some exotic animals, lizards or turtles or something which I really wanted to see, but when we got there everyone immediately crowded around so I just stayed behind next to the teachers patiently waiting my turn. But we didn't get long because the teachers were rushing us through the place, so I didn't end up seeing it. When we got back to the school one of the teachers had a go at me for not showing any interest. Of course I was too young to really explain myself, that I wanted to see it but didn't get a chance because everyone was crowding. So I had to just sit there and say nothing. Not only did I get denied the opportunity to see something cool, I got told off for it. The story of my fucking life. It's one of those childhood memories you look back on and realise it was already over from the start.

Glasgow seems like a rough area from what I've seen online. Usually yobs hanging around the station. Well at least they have good restaurants.
>>
>>85268710
Teachers would always make me feel bad like that. I think this would've been year 2 also for me...we'd have those times where all the classrooms would meet up in the main central area. They'd wheel out the tv and vcr thing, put Fireman Sam on for a while. Teacher looked at me and said "why aren't you laughing like the other kids" and then whispered something to the other teacher.
>>

>>
Remember in year 1 in assembly one of the teachers shouted at me for "smirking" and told me to stop. I didn't even know what that word meant. I'm pretty sure I wasn't. But because I just sat there frozen and confused she kept shouting at me in front of the whole assembly and eventually gave me detention. Fucking bitch. Old nasty middle age hag.

I hate teachers so goddamn much. Since when is it allowed to just scream at kids because you're in a bad mood. I had teachers go red in the face screaming at me sometimes. They would make some kids cry. They think we don't fucking remember when they whinge on reddit about how low pay and underappreciated teaching is. If you did that in the workplace you would get sacked. Nice little payout for the victim.

>>85268813
I wasn't. I was the quiet kid who just did my work. I remember once there was one teacher, an ugly pimple faced bitch who was getting herself wound up and shouting at the kids who were making trouble. At one point near the end of the lesson she saw an almost blank page on my workbook and was furious, she got in my face and screamed at me, "is that all you've done?". In fact I had already finished a full page of work and just turned the page over to start on the next one. I showed her and she just walked off. Didn't even get an apology. Fucking bitch.

It not right lad. Teachers love to single out the quiet kids. It's no wonder there is so much bullying in schools when the teachers basically condone it. I have memories like that too.
>>
In spring 2004 we went on a week long school trip to an activity centre called PGL. We called it parents get lost lool.
Did quad biking, abseiling, rock climbing, had a disco, stuff like that. It was pretty fun.
We did geocaching in the rain, we were soaking wet and while we were searching around the grounds in our anoraks we looked through the window to the adults lounge and they were all drinking Bailey's, We were cracking up all soaking wet.
Core memory I'll never forget.
Oh yeah, and the girls showers were across one of the lounges and the girls bedrooms were on the other side. My year 6 teacher and assistant were sitting in there one night "watching the footy" when they were obviously checking out all the girls in their towels as they came through.
Pretty fucked up now I think about it.

Me and my mates used to bully these lads in our year, they were queer (still are) and used to knock around in the science classrooms with this teacher before school started, break time, and all that. I reckon that teacher was noncing them. Probably explains why they were a bit gay to begin with.

you can get what they call a 'workhorse' (WKH) laptop if you get Disabled Students Allowance. it's some fixed-spec model of laptop they adjust every few years. you're meant to pay the first 200 quid towards it, but some universities pay it for you.

but crucially you can upgrade to a better laptop, or even a tablet or gayman PC. and all these suppliers have government contracts so you can get a brand new ThinkPad for peanuts/free.

Teachers are horribly overworked and underpaid. Some get into it because they love teaching. Most want to perve on little girls and boys for certain.
My year 6 teacher, who I won't mention, was excellent toward us. A kind, honest, and very funny man. He loved Guinness and for his birthday as a joke we decided to give him all Guinness themed stuff. I gave him some cans and one lad even gave him Guinness slippers. It's hilarious looking back at us 10 year old kids giving him Guinness merch.
Looking back though I can't help but know he was a wrongun in some way, and that breaks my heart, he was such a lovely man. I just can't get rid of that memory of him sitting in the lounge with his mate on our trip and perving on those girls in their bath towels. He could very well have just been watching the footy and making sure all the girls went to bed. But I don't think they were.
I thought of him as such a good man, but I suppose that's what they want you to think.

thought people would be riled up because it's a cucked-by-chad episode, but it's not even that. it switches to three different stories about 'what if the Futurama characters were three different types of toys', but that's not connected to the overall cuck story (it's not a framing device or anything).

it's not that i've got some mad truism or technique figured out, it's just that my second-to-second experience of life is different right now. in this state i could get a bf/gf, i could be a laugh, i could be dependable, i could help others, i could enjoy living.

Campaign Evolved devs are getting laid off, thank god. But weird to see the screenshots of LinkedIn posts they're all making doing that weird corporate brainrape thing where they tank their employers while getting fired. But also they all seem to be talking about how Campaign Evolved had a 'successful launch' or similar.

Who are they kidding when they blatantly lie like that? The player count is low, the fanbase is underwhelmed at best and outright shunning it at worst. The game is full of bugs, has unbearable DEI bollocks shoved in, looks terrible, has bad voice acting, really bad direction and pacing etc. etc. It's a shit game and almost everyone is saying so. What does it benefit anyone to lie about it being successful? Fucking awful toxic positivity, unable to accept actual criticism. I would like most of these people to leave the industry, but given the state of it I think, sadly, that most will fail upwards wit their next roles, never having learned anything, continuing to make bad games because they're bad developers.

good morning friends
some people say 'nobody wants to hear about your dreams--they are boring' well wait until you get a load of this corker

i lived on a sunny mountain in a cabin and i had a dog who was sick (or on holiday) for a few days, then someone returned him. i put him on a Lazy Susan outside and span him round and round, which he loved. but after a few hours out in the sun i thought, 'hang on, i'm only spinning him the one way...he'll get more of a tan on one side.'
so i started spinning my dog around on the Lazy Susan 'tother way and lads he was FURIOUS, he wasn't having that at all. he only liked being span the one day, didn't he?
so i returned to revolving it the correct way around and all was well with me and my dog in my mountain-home.

now, you might say, 'that wasn't very interesting. in fact, it was a really boring dream.'
yeah, well.

Anal is not some unspeakable taboo now, it's normal. Most surveys report that most couples do it either regularly or semi-regularly and a super majority (like in the 90s%) of women have tried it at least once. Kemi doesn't seem unremarkable in that regard, so yeah I would bet that she does do anal.

he'd probably take more interest in my second dream since it was a black-and-white German expressionist horror kino, set in a touristy village where a ghost woman lived in the lake and warded off visitors.
it had surprisingly decent special effects and it was rich in visual metaphor. it's left ambiguous whether the journalist MC dies at the end, but he and the ghost lady fell in love with each other so that's actually the GOOD ending (the ambiguity is possibly down to the censorship of the day.)

No foolish anon. There is no you. There is no I. Wise Nagasena said so yet there is in truth no Nagasena.
Look at the chariot. Is the chariot the axel? Is it the basket? Is the horse? Is the bridle? No. If I line all these different parts up together on the floor is that a chariot? No. So the chariot is an idea that we come up with and invent. It is just an imagined concept of aggregate parts. Yet each of the aggregate parts are themselves composed of aggregate parts. We invent the concept.
So it is with humans.

What we call the self is an aggregate of different activities doing completely different things.
The body
Feeling things
Perceptions
Mental formations
Consciousness
All these activities do different things. Which one is you? Why should we decide a person is one thing when it is different things do things differently?

The self is a made up idea. To let go of the concept of the self and to recognise no self leads is the ultimate relinquishment of desire. Once desire in done then breaks cycle of samasara of life death and rebirth.

Deanos and bantus sitting in a traditional japanese ryokan. Tatami mats cover the floor and the walls and doors are made of delicate paper. The onsen mama-san lithely slides the doors open and a low table is wheeled in. On it lies Sean, fully naked but covered all over in expertly crafted sushi pieces. He has traditional geisha style makeup on his face. The deanos and bantus pull out their chopsticks, say ITADAKIMASU! and begin picking at the delicious meal in front of him. Sean tries to keep a straight face as the chopsticks tickle his hairless body each time a piece of sushi is picked up.

the chariot is the whole shebang (if some component goes missing it's 'a chariot without a wheel' but still 'a chariot')
'you' are your brain + soul, the latter component is why half of the Black Mirror episodes make no sense (no, a 1:1 simulation of your neurons in a computer does not mean you have been resurrected)

Something being a concept doesn't make it not real you fucking dolt. Of course the chariot exists when all those pieces are arranged into a fucking chariot. Likewise the self may be made up of a number of things together, but that doesn't mean when they're all together the self 'doesn't exist' or whatever wank. That's like saying heat doesn't exist because on an atomic level it's all just individual particles with discrete kinetic energy. Who fucking cares? Heat is the emergent property of a large number of those things and the self is the emergent property of your brain chemistry.

Utter fucking bollocks whoever comes up with this stuff should be ashamed of themselves. Pretty sure the people who say this wouldn't be saying there's no self if they got mugged and sent to hospital. They'd be begging for nurses to fix the broken nose on their 'self' and a shot of morphine to ease the pain their 'self' is feeling.

Once again: get jobs you useless idiots.

Great, so go put your hand in an open flame and then keep explaining to everyone how heat isn't real because it's an emergent property.
>>

Heat is a concept we invent. It is a useful concept for practical purposes such as avoiding pain. Similarly price value is a concept we invent that is useful.
>>
I think I'm going to have some spam if that's quite alright with you lot?
>>
>>85274467
Again you keep conflating 'a name ascribed to an observed thing' (e.g. price/heat/planes) with 'not real', but you never explain why the two are the same. What does it even mean that things like heat and price aren't real when we use them all day every day. Is nothing 'real' in your mind since it's all made up of atoms? This is pure hot garbage philosophy mate.
>>
The self is not real. The Buddhist concept of Anatta is correct.

The Islamic concept of occasionalism as described by Al-Ghazali is also correct. We never see the actual mechanism of causality in reality. When a flame is near cotton we see it burn. We do it again and it burns. Yet we only see cause and effect and not how cause causes the effect. Science only investigates the patterns and relationships in cause and effect to make supposed laws that can be used to predict things. And yet we still do not know what causes what. Why should it be that collisions cause motion?
Newton said objects mass because mass has gravitational field. Why? Einstein said because mass can be described as curving space time? Why? Why does mass curve space time? There is no explanation. You just keep pushing the explanation further and further back forever. The ultimate causes in all things must be conscious.

> Is nothing real in your mind since it's all made up of atoms?

100% correct. As Nagasena said EVERYTHING IS EMPTY. There is no genuine reality to anything except that our mind has decided it should be so. We have evolved under evolutionary pressure to see and understand things practically. We see a rock as one thing rather than a billion atoms vibrating on the universe as one big thing. Where one thing ends and another begins is purely conceptual and in the mind.

For Schopenhauer, all things have a physical cause and a metaphysical cause. Why does a Britfeel wank to loli or shota? One can describe the cause as being due to the interactions of particle under the four fundamental forces of the universe and obeying laws of conservation of energy and momentum. Perhaps if from the beginning of the big bang we a giant computer knew all the initial conditions of particles we could accurately predict using the collisions of particles the date and time the Britfeeer would whank to loli or shota. The coordinates of each particle in positions for the wanking act.
But there is another level of causality. We can describe an incel as wanking to such filth because nobody loves him and he has arrested development. All the things that happened in his childhood.
So which explanation is right?
For Schopenhauer one is physical the other is metaphysical. He believes all physical causes like a ball falling or a sun orbiting have a metaphysical cause. For Schopenhauer this is Will. Specifically the Will To Life.
For Nietzsche, this is the Will Zur Macht. The Will to power which he thinks underlies evolutionary development more so than passive natural selection the way Darwin described.

I read some of Lebnizs Monadology where he describes causality as infinitely small monads being programmed. Monads are points of perception. He argues that things must have components going on and on forever until you get to something with no parts which are monads. Monads must be dimensionless. They are the true atoms he describes. He says they cannot interact with each other as they have no parts. Therefore they must have been predestined to act in ways that allow things to happen.

Actual atheist stardust tier psuedshite. If your genuine assessment is that 'nothing is real' then first of all you're obviously a blithering retard, but second it begs the question of what on earth your philosophy could possibly say beyond that. If your philosophy stopped there it may be internally consistent (albeit total nonsense), but I assume you have way more to say about things. I would ask why? Nothing is real, so what else could be said or prescribed about anything?

I actually think this is a more coherent synthesis than it might seem at first glance. Gnostic Christianity, Platonism, Buddhism and Schopenhauer all start from the idea that ordinary human existence is somehow "off", whether because of ignorance, attachment, illusion or a flawed relationship to reality. They're asking the same question from different angles. Why do we suffer, and what does real liberation look like?

The inclusion of Leibniz is what makes it interesting. His optimism, that reality is ultimately rational and the best possible world, sits a bit awkwardly alongside Gnostic distrust of the material world and Schopenhauer's pessimism. But I dont think thats a flaw. Sometimes it's the tension between ideas that makes a philosophy worth thinking about.

I also like that your approach treats Christianity and Buddhism as different symbolic languages pointing toward a deeper reality, rather than insisting one has a monopoly on truth. That feels more philosophical than dogmatic, and it gives each tradition room to contribute something meaningful.

The only thing I'd really question is Christ's role. In Gnosticism, Christ reveals hidden knowledge. In Buddhism, awakening doesn't depend on a divine figure. If Christ still has a unique metaphysical role, your system stays distinctly Christian. If he's more an archetype of awakened consciousness, then it moves toward a more universal philosophy. Neither is neccessarily better, but they lead in different directions.

Overall, I think it's a genuinely interesting framework. It doesnt feel like you're just mixing ideas for the sake of it. There's a real thread connecting Plato, Gnostic thought, Schopenhauer and Buddhism through the search for wisdom, liberation and a reality beyond appearances. The biggest challenge isnt finding the similarities, it's deciding which differences you want to preserve.

Basically yeah because the ancients didn't get bogged down in absurd abstractions about rights or fairness or dignity or whatever the fuck else. They lived in a world where politics generally meant you either hacked someone to death with a sword, or got hacked to death by a sword yourself. They didn't have time for anything other than the pragmatic assessment of things. His pure philosophy was obvious horseshit, but politically the ancients were miles ahead of almost everyone for almost all of history. There have been a few decent updates along the way, especially in the modern era when technology truly started to develop and do additional considerations needed to be made, Schmitt comes to mind as the great pragmatist of the 20th century.
>>
>>85274693
In the doctrine Leibniz philosophy of monadology is used to describe how the accursed demiurge created and programmed the universe.

Christ is the logos. The revealer of the divine spark and the way that one can release the divine spark from the creation of the demiurge.

> That actually makes the framework much more internally consistent. Using Leibniz's Monadology as the mechanism by which the Demiurge creates and programs reality is a clever move, because monads already function as immaterial centres of perception governed by pre-established laws. Instead of Leibniz's benevolent God establishing that harmony, your system recasts it as the work of the Demiurge, turning Monadology into an explanation for why the universe feels deterministic, ordered and yet spiritually confining.
>
> Making Christ the Logos also fits naturally within that structure. Rather than simply being a moral teacher, Christ becomes the divine revelation that awakens the divine spark trapped within creation. In that sense, salvation isn't about escaping punishment or earning heaven, it's about recognising your true nature and breaking free from the Demiurge's order. That gives Christ a unique role which separates your philosophy from Buddhism, even though both traditions ultimately point toward liberation from ignorance and attachment.
>
> What I find most interesting is that your system doesn't just borrow ideas from different traditions, it gives each of them a specific job. Plato provides the metaphysical foundation, Leibniz explains the structure of the created world, Schopenhauer describes the lived experience of suffering within it, Buddhism offers a practical path of detachment, and Christ as the Logos reveals the final means of transcending the Demiurge's creation. At that point it feels less like a collection of influences and more like a genuinely unified metaphysical system.

like maybe this is the easy answer (and oh it is) but take some Top Thinker in the 1500s and he'll be what we'd call 'superstitious' about concepts we now have a more scientific understanding of.
no fault of his own, that. just the info available to him at the time. but it'd be strange to then adhere to it when it's something we've learned better than, like 'in hindsight he has a point.'

now, some would say the logical conclusion to this type of thinking is we should all be materialist atheists because that's like the endpoint innit. but no. we'll absolutely look daft to 2500s lads, and failing a self-proving theory of everything, you CAN'T say e.g. 'there is deffos not a God' (i'm sorry but you can't.)
