Remember that one South Park episode "Cartoon Wars" where they have a go at Family Guy, and the Simpsons and King of the Hill writers sent them flowers over it
Imagine telling people back then that 20 years later, out of those four shows, Family guy would be the only one still worth watching
>>

Neo Futurama is really really bad. Simpsons has been utterly unwatchable for literally 28 seasons. New Star Trek is not Star Trek. It wears a few motifs and has a few names that can be found in Star Trek but it's not the same thing. I mean that without hyperbole; you can watch random two or three minutes clips on YouTube and if you watched without the sound nothing would indicate that you're watching Trek.

The Orville is an odd one. You can tell there's genuine passion for Trek that McFarlane has and it shows through, but season 1 he was still pitching it as a comedy show. After S1 they really toned down the comedy and now it's a campy sci-fi drama. More Trek than nuTrek, but lacks the same pedigree. I'd watch but skip S1, the comedy isn't good imo, falls very flat, and there isn't much that you need to see in S1 for the rest to make sense.

Number 15: Abrakebabra foot lettuce. The last thing you'd want in your kebab is someone's foot fungus. But as it turns out, that might be what you get. An apu uploaded a photo anonymously to bebo showcasing his feet in a plastic bin of lettuce. With the statement: "This is the lettuce you eat at abrakebebra." i think it's because of the neuroticism brought about by my autism + phimotic penis, not to mention feeling all chill on the illegally-acquired pills i take, which the police already know about so don't bother telling them because if you wanted to tell them ANYTHING it ought to be about that fine/potential court case they completely forgot about (phew)

i go on about this often but it's a sad state of artffairs. it was already daft enough people whittled it down to two 'characters' (the frog and the bald guy). but they draw a little scene with objects in it and you think 'fair enough, that person can draw.'

but why can't it be like their own original little MS Paint comic? they could have some identifiable style. a lot of reaction images of this circle-head guy from /v/ were by Three Angled Blue (who now makes furry animations wtf).

but there were lots of posters like that. drawfrens just drawing. not just drawing a hat onto the same frog template. i would even say the AIs at least have more going on in the image.

AI frogposter is cool though because of the writing attached. one day he may reveal
>oh yeah i started doing that with an LLM too, i just touched it up a bit.

The key distinction between the left and right is the right accept and desire hierarchy, whereas the left view it as inherently immoral and illegitimate.

This manifests as looking at the world, seeing white people are doing better than nonwhites (generally speaking) and foaming at the mouth to 'correct' such an injustice. The way that they have manifested this desire is to flood white countries with the nonwhites to reduce all to the mean of humanity. Perfect equality.

They're religious in temperament and see doing this as a transcendent virtue.
>>
>>85351134
I reckon I can get these.

>>

They don't. They say they do because they are required to say they do, but they know it's not true. It's incredibly overdone, but it's true that Orwell really was prescient of this sort of stuff with 1984.

Poshos have never liked the working class. They have the wrong attitudes, they vote for the wrong things, they insist on being patriotic in that medieval kind of way, they support the death sentence for nonces, they don't understand fine dining, etc.
They're embarrassed by them. You only have to meet a slightly posh middle class person to understand this. The actual fuming hatred that these people spout when they think they're in good company is startling.
Orwell was talking about this back in the 40's. If anything, it probably has something to do with the British upper classes being culturally French, while the British lower classes are culturally Saxon and Celtic.

>>85351147
You'd think, but you talk to a modern self-avowed leftist, and the internalisation of a hierarchical worldview bleeds through them.
Look at Brexit. They were furious that "the Gammons" decided they didn't really like being ruled by unelected bureaucrats on another landmass. That they didn't naturally perceive the cultural superiority of the EU project, and accept people in real places like Brussels as their masters, as opposed to people on a stinky island whose idea of a good meal is fried fish and a pie.
You only have to poke a leftist lightly, and they're talking about how the masses need to be educated better, so they vote "correctly", and that we need to ban or shut down anything that allows working class people to gather and discuss things without their guidance.

Being ruled by people who aren't English. That's what they disagreed with.
Also, there was a presumption that they were forcing immigration on people, which turned out to only be half true. No one believed at that point that English people would have done what they did to England. It was a short-sightedness, admittedly.

but if i was getting four, i decided to get a range of them, might as well, right lads? Chardonnay for the gravy, another white, two reds? all for cooking (you never know).
but then i thought, 'well if i'm BUYING alcohol, i might as well buy some beers too. plus it's making the shop up to 30 quid so i get this 3 quid off voucher.'

now i'm home, and instead of making my roast dinner, i'm having a glass of red wine and these ice lollies. well why not, eh? i say i've earned it after lugging all those fresh ingredients home x

Leftists love hierarchy in general. They love anything that the masses can't get their hands on. That's where this lionisation of accademia and the sciences comes from. They're completely infatuated with the idea of elite cultural institutions where John down the pub doesn't get a say on anything.

Interesting factoid: vampire stories become popular whenever culture is taking a left-wing turn, and zombie stories become popular whenever culture is taking a right-wing turn.
What underlying fears are these stories tapping into?
>unaccountable elites in high places, doing god knows what in the dungeons of their castles
>the shambling masses, creeping up from their shopping malls and trailer parks, to come and eat you

>Give me a screenie, mate. Then I can see what you're talking about. I am using a font you may not have.
i meant in your image, but yeah here's me in default 4chan with Arial on Windows (zoomed in a bit, nowt wrong with that, is there?)

maybe i just feel like there should be slight breaks between sections, or it's because the link isn't underlined, or something.
the comment text IS right up there next to the subject/name/date line, but maybe that's just how you like it? maximising vertical screen real estate, and all that.

but you CAN'T control for the whitespace created by thumbnails, can you? that'll always be there. it's one of the reasons i don't get the fake outrage at 'Reddit spacing': it's text next to a 250px tall image, there SHOULD be more vertical spacing via paragraphs (IMO)

on the definitely-positive side, i like that colour scheme (more than Solarized-Dark) and i like the way you've done the post boxes (slight rounded corner + drop shadow, looks cool)

there's a scene in Ricky Gervais' Alley Cats where the two cats are on a romantic date and it plays the song 'There Is a Light That Never Goes Out' by The Smiths, and the lyrics of the song are rendered as happenings in the cartoon.

oh fair enough. densitymaxxing innit.

although i always wonder like...it's not hard to imagine a reality where we decided displays ought to be vertical to emulate books (the same way we went from terminals on black screens, to white web pages).

i mention ageing because i think my peripheral vision has gotten worse. and supposedly there's some sex dimorphic trait in us humans where men tend to have narrower vision (hunting tigers) and women have wider vision (spotting berries).

of course, that could be bullshit. but all i know is, if i watch some ultra-wide-screen film, my eyes are darting around rather than watching the entire scene comfortably ;_;

I'd need more info about your life and childhood etc to make a proper assessment but my guess is that you're the tard rage kind of autist and want an excuse for kicking off when you don't get your own way, like tard rage autists are generally associated with the lower functioning end of the spectrum, they are spackers basically, so if you used autism as an excuse for kicking off everyone will just think you're stupid. I'm also basing this on the way you communicate, it's very word salady, I mean
>i don't know how to get you 'out of character'
is nonsense. Word salad is typically associated with schizophrenia but that is closely linked to autism, the symptoms can actually be so similar that many psychiatrists will not diagnose the one if the other is already diagnosed. Whereas those with BPD tend to be very articulate, they develop that skill to help manipulate and be hurtful when switching.

in all earnestness, i appreciate the candid answer. based on what i've posted, i think i can see how you've gotten there, but my own suspicion is you've known similar-ish people to me and you're drawing a parallel between me and them.

the word-salad-ness is more ADHD (diagnosed). honestly it's kind of recent (past few years) and there HAS been psychosis/weirdness (like there just has? it happens to people, dunno what to tell you there).
but also the brain is a muscle, i haven't read a proper book in about a year, i used to be one of those robot-sounding kinda autists who would be all
>Oh, verily. Thou art not as wizened as me, for I do not stoop to the pedestrian level of contractions!
it just goes. age. thickness. whatever. not saying i was ever super smart, but more on the 'semantic' kind of smartness than actual engineering or creativity, y'know? i got Bs at school, then i started skiving, and i got Ds.

i wouldn't go out of my way to manipulate someone through some sort of verbal or social articulation. it's OCCURRED to me and i've made the CHOICE. like i don't think it's super noble...it just is?
sorry to use another sex example but i verily forewent sex with an attractive person because it felt sleazy and i knew it would break both our hearts in the long run. when i could have just had sexy sex (and sometimes i do kick myself? who wouldn't.)
point is that's like a superego-over-id thing innit.

i have a laugh on here, i try not to attack people or wind people up, i can be a bit sarcastic, but i do think the whole 'irony poisoning' thing gets grating, or at least the younger (?) trend of people speaking in irony by default. like they're all Xander from Buffy. i'd prefer it if people just spoke earnestly. that's not the same as 'never banter' or 'never crack a joke'.

and by 'out of character' i hope you can understnad i mean like, ^ that. just saying what you mean. we can all do the 'internet guy' voice, it just gets old.

Yeah you don't have BPD. Manipulation, splitting, and even hypersexuality/promiscuity are core aspects of BPD, they don't "choose" to manipulate or switch from love to hate, they just do, it's an innate part of their personality, hence personality disorder.

I would also question your ADHD diagnosis, are you poor or from a working class background? This is very common, poorer low functioning tard rage autists often get misdiagnosed as ADHD based on their bad behavior/tantrums, while autism or aspergers as it used to be was reserved for either the high functioning academic kind of autist or the low functioning tard rage autists who are from the right side of the tracks, because to a well off family there's less stigma with a diagnosis of autism than their is for ADHD, as ADHD is typically seen as a low class naughty kid thing.

>>

>>

Funnily, I think I got this the other way around. I think they decided I had Aspergers, because I was the zoning out kind of child, as opposed to the can't sit in a chair, and makes the teacher's job difficult kind of child.
In retrospect, I totally should have had an ADHD diagnosis. I could never fucking concentrate. I'd try, and then my brain would just fuck off, and then I'd realise I'd been imagining myself walking on the telephone lines out the window for twenty minutes, and hadn't heard a thing the teacher had said.

relapsing-right-now here.

i forget the previous times. made it 3 and a half years, the odd blip over 2 years, probably fair to say i was back to zero tolerance on a standard day.

two weeks ago i drank for the first time in months. two or three (500ml) beers actually got me drunk. they were physically difficult to drink and it actually felt poison. my stomach/guts hurt shortly after i drank them, when i remembered how i could just neck them.

I have no friends, I don't talk to colleagues outside of work (and barely at work), I have no hobbies, I'm not in any group chats, I am not part of any online subculture or group. Obviously I have no gf as well, but the gf thing isn't even the biggest slap in the face, it's more that I simply have no connection to anyone or anything. I am detached. I spend my days existing but doing little else. I maintain myself, but not for anyone's benefit other than my personal comfort.

reminder that cereal (even sugary cereal) in a bowl is more nutritional than salad (the kind you get from a bag; not e.g. a chicken salad that also has nuts).

What was your favourite gimmick, lads?

Some foreign films get a translated title bit some just stay foreign. For example, La Notte and Les Cousins just stay the same. Then you have Godard's Breathless which was originally A Bout de Souffle.

i quite like Buster Keaton's films but it's not like 'oh this one is the best', you just dip into them.
(tbqh the longer silent films get boring and YES THIS INCLUDES CHAPLIN'S THE GREAT DICTATOR, DEAL w/ IT NERDS)

go stick on The Frozen North (1922).

>Metropolis

i know this one is obvious as HECK but if you liked A Trip to the Moon >>85354532-san you should watch Metropolis. like the sheer spectacle/weird mechanics of it, i don't know how they did it, it's like one big long magic trick that has a good story as a bonus.

also also The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. German expressionism innit, weird angular sets and all that.

you DO watch The Inbetweeners once a year while drinking and feeling sad, right /britfeel/?
