CE was mind-blowing coming from n64. It was like using an iPhone for the first time after having a flip phone. 25 years later games still use the same controller layout.

2 had online multiplayer, which made an entire cohort of guys stop leaving the house for like a week. Not as huge of a technical leap but still crazy fun.

3 had forge and custom games which was like Gary's mod for console back in the day. My personal favorite, but only because I loved infection.

Reach was the beginning of the decline. Still pretty fun but didn't do anything new. At the time it got BTFO by modern warfare 2 and that's what we all switched to.

4,5 are really bad. Even compared to reach they suck. Not even worth playing. Cortana has big tits in 4 tho.


Infinite was a *slight* improvement but they bungled the launch really badly. No forge, no customs, no infection, hardly anything to do. They basically turned the 2nd mission of Halo CE into a Far Cry open world game. Massive disappointment and the player-base evaporated.
