Warning: real actual spoilers.
The part where Panty and Stocking are turned into statues and pulverized was the first time in at least a decade that I was legitimately devastated by the death or presumed death of a character. It especially got to me because all of the gods had been turned into statues and pulverized earlier and it was treated as though it had killed all of the gods. However, if that were the only reason, I think I would've just been mad. These two are the best written, most fleshed out, and well written characters in mainstream media in years if not decades. That's really sad.
