Hellow frens! Today I saw these precooked sausages I use to eat as a lil kid at my redneck grandma’s trailer and I noticed they have a new flavor! It’s Vermont Maple! So I decided to buy both and compare them to the original ones and I’ll tell u what I think! Both sausages are $1.50 for ten links which is not a bad deal 20 sausages for $3!Your fortune: Reply hazy, try again
Okay so here the sausages on a plate along with freezer pancake. I like the freezer pancake they actually taste better than the instant pancake you mix and cook in a pan BUT THATS NOT WHAT THIS IS ABOUT. This is about apple sausage and as u can see I decided to have a big dinner and cook 4 whole sausages! And here’s the surprising thing… the Vermont maple sausages are actually the lighter colored ones!? You’d think the addition of the Vermont maple syrup would make them darker but nope, they are the lighter one! So anyway next is the taste test!
my parents would always have these sausages on sunday morning, i wish i could still have them for the nostalgia
I've had those before. I liked them.
Okay so here is the taste review! The regular sausage get an 8 out of 11 for me mostly for nostalgia taste lol if I didn’t eat them as a kid they wouldn’t be as good they are so fake meat but it tastes so right with the pancake and very convenient! As for the Vermont maple flavor they are almost identical to the regular! There’s just like a subtle hint of maple syrup it kinda like those lacroix or sprakling drinks where they don’t really have the flavor they just have a smell of the flavor to trick you into thinking it it’s a very very subtle flavor and when u r eating them after eating a bite of pancake that have syrup you can’t really even tell the difference so they are about as the same as the regular but I have to deduct some points for almost lying to me so I guess I give them a 4 out of 6.Thanks for reading my review frens if u enjoyed this plz remember to like and subscribe and remember to hit that notification button so you’ll be alerted every time I post an inane food thread!
>>12549537>>12549538U can still get them at walmarts!
>>12549550i doubt they make a vegan version though :< . also g8r have you ever had boiled peanuts
>>12549555Nice tripz!!!yes they are quite common here there are some in walking distance from my house even tho I’m in the middle of nowhere also I use to make them for my parents. I personally do not care for them, the texture is like water chestnuts WHICH ARE THE DEVIL! I get very upset when I’m eating China mu gu pang wow beef with vegetables and they sneek those lil soggy nut slices in there.Do you like them?
>>12549589i've never had them before, they're not popular up north where i am, i'm just wondering if they would make a good garnish for a ghanaian groundnut soup i'm making next week
>>12549537I mean, you could, veganism is a choice.>>12549590They would.
>>12549549hot g8r legs aaaaa
It looks raw, maybe because of the slightly pale color, but it really looks great!)
>>12549596veganism is a choice, but it's a choice i want to keep up more than i want sausages. okie i'll try to make boiled peanuts early in the week, and if it doesn't turn out well i can always just chop up peanuts for garnish along with scallions
>>12549599[hot subes)Yeah...i save them
>>12549590>>12549608I don’t know about soup peanuts but like I say earlier if u r familiar with water chestnuts just imagine that but it’s peanuts. The only thing that really gives them any flavor is they are boiled it broth and pic related which idk if that would fit with soup but I hope it work out 4 u!
>>12549615Nuh, water Chestnut have no flavour.
>>12549615i really like the texture of water chestnuts, so i'm looking forward to it >>12549616they pick up the flavor of the broth or jiang that they're served in since they contain so much water
>>12549524This kind of food reminds me of when my family was struggling when I was young. This food isn't good, but it's got a place in my heart for sure, I hope u enjoyed it g8rh8r I appreciate yuor thread
>>12549622(dubs) hey uncapitalized anonymous I have been meaning to ask u something coz I remembering something u said in another thread. I don't like beans, their texture is awful and mushy and bad but they are extremely healthy do u have any other ideas of ways I can try them that will help with the gross textureYour fortune: Godly Luck
>>12549649hmmm, what do you think about the texture of falafel? i guess that gets rid of most of the health benefits. hmmmmm. some people roast chickpeas to make them like crunchy little snacks. there's also tempeh which is made of beans and has a texture that's kind of meaty. what are your thoughts on other legumes like lentils?
>>12549649Butter beans are kinda like mushed potatoes.
>>12549651I've never heard of any of this stuff except for chickpeas but roasted chickpeas u are describing sounds good. And I also need a good alternative for crunchy snack cause potato chips are poisoning my brain. Only other kind of bean I've had is bbq baked beans, I'm from Kansas and we really don't have a lot of diversity in that kind of stuff here but we do got chickpeas I will try that. The only other bean I've ever liked is lima beans and I think its cuz they aren't even like real beans like green beans or peas they r just normal plants ya kno
>>12549656legumes make good snacks because they have a decent bit of protein, i personally like peanuts and wasabi peas. also, you might want to try red lentils, i really like indian daal's, they're more smooth and creamy than other legumes. are you okay with spreads made from legumes like hummus or refried beans?
>>12549660needs somethin crunchy to dip it in or else it just feels like im eating mush and my brain hates that (hates it about refried beans especially) I only had hummus once and it was weird cause it was really sweet instead of being savory like I expected but I think that might've just been the flavoring added to it or something added sugar crap like we got here in the states
>>12549662oh yeah sweet hummus is really weird sounding. hmmmm, oh, papadum is an indian bread that's made out of lentils, you could dip papadum in daal and it would be like lentils on lentils
nice reviewYour fortune: Outlook good
>>12549524>>12549534>>12549549good review, I read it
>>12549649Bean soups are tasty. Not a good source of protein though because there's so much water and salt.
>>12549649I HAVE A SUGGEST!since u don’t like texture of bean but want beans why not refried beans? Different texture than bean and u can put cheese on top!
