i enrolled at a fencing club, where they allowed me to bring my blunt spear to fight with. when i arrived i noticed that my spear was much longer than everyone else's spears, which allowed me to win against everybody else.
after seeing me win, they stated that i need to learn the rules properly, and that i could not stab with my spear, only do a drawing cut with the blade of it, and they showed me a spear that had a cut piece of bamboo on the end of a pole as though that was what i needed to practice with. however, someone else cut in and told me that this was a case of "everyone thinking a person is wrong but he's actually right" type of thing, and called that situation by a certain term i didnt recognize, which was probably a misnomer.
so instead of making me change the way i use my spear, they mounted a small wooden chandelier near the end of the shaft to make the spear too front heavy to use properly.

Remember when Musashi fought the warrior with the longest sword, so instead of his own swords he used the oar of his boat which was even longer?
