Have you ever missed a place you've never been? A time, a false memory created in your imagination, or even a dream? I've had this feeling practically every day from last week until today. I'm the kind of person who always has dreams and nightmares, and most of them make me wake up wishing I'd never left. And I happened to research whether this is a sign of something related to nostalgia, and I discovered that this type of feeling is called Anemoia.

Anemoia, in short, is the feeling of nostalgia, longing, and emotional connection to something you've never witnessed. Whether it's an '80s fashion trend or a wooden cabin in the middle of the forest. I realized I have Anemoia when I read about it. I know this will sound embarrassing, but I feel like my dream world is more vivid than the real world. My nightmares, of entering an abandoned house and discovering an underground passage to some kind of ruined laboratory of a crazy psychopath who performs human experiments, make me feel scared. But they also make me miss the feeling I felt. I also dreamed that I had done something inhumane (I don't remember what) and ended up escaping, hiding in the basement of a guy who created fake identities. I had fled to Russia but was desperate because I didn't know Russian and didn't know how to get back to the USA. I miss that too. It sounds silly, but I found it very interesting.
