This is a heavy-duty scissor lifting clamp (also known as lifting tongs).

It is a specialized tool used in industrial and construction settings for overhead lifting. Here are a few key details about it:

The Mechanism: It uses a "scissor" action. When a hoist or crane pulls upward on the yellow eyelet (the shackle on the right), the lever arms pull together, causing the circular jaws on the left to squeeze shut. The heavier the load, the tighter the grip.

Load Capacity: If you look closely at the shackle on the right, it is stamped with "WLL 4 3/4T". This stands for Work Load Limit: 4.75 Tons (9,500 lbs), indicating it is designed for very heavy lifting.

Primary Use: Because of the circular shape of the jaws and the small "teeth" or flanges at the tips, this specific model is likely used for lifting manhole rings, concrete pipes, or heavy cylindrical bollards. The jaws wrap around the neck or flange of the object to provide a secure hold.

You’ll typically see these used around loading docks, construction sites, or in facility maintenance for moving heavy infrastructure components.

dumbass that's the shackle rating it says fucking DICK about the scissor lift capacity or rating which looks fine but even if those are grade 8 bolts the real shear point is much smaller than the graded D shackle.

I guess that's pretty much correct I wouldn't use it for overhead lifting it's a skid puller but the problem with them is a lot of times if you can't get a skid out and you put that on it and start pulling with a Fork truck you end up pulling the skid apart
