It's also my favorite. The line of sight being nulled by trees just lends itself so well to the dynamic of the game and it gives evil dead vibes. 9/10

Oh u mean when they added the mp5 and AWP? Those weapons were actual dog shit. AWP was slower than tier 1 hunting rifle and the mp5 glitched on reload and did less damage than ak/m16

Yeah 1 definitely had better levels. The only one I really like in 2 is The Passing because it's just a slog of slaughter

But I also liked the plantation crescendo despite we just would camp in the left hallway on the staircase creating a bottleneck

oh i really like that one as well, i think the ending with the sewer run tends to be a little shitty but it was probably just me and my group being bad
my fondest memory of it is when we had an adrenaline crate spawn cause they were just so common on that map for some reason, then running back to it over and over to crank up more every time we fucked up cause we were out of healing, just slowly completing the level an inch of progress at a time by war of attrition fueled by drugs
it probably would've been faster to just restart but that was fun

Marathon crescendos were so more kino than holdout ones. I like actually having to machete your way out of a gauntlet because it invokes a hurried pacing and tempo where if someone lags behind and gets caught by a hunter or smoker we just leave them.

I've played so much l4d I can tell what the "director" is planning. Too slow? Horde. Too fast? Horde and witch or tank.

you're right about that, the holdout ones were kinda just cancer cause it's not that fun eating shit and starting over after minutes of dicking around in the same area simply cause some random special infected got the drop on you
even the ones where you run around for gas canisters i prefer over stationary holdout
though i think i dislike the running event in the passing because you're bogged down by water and i just hate the feeling of that shit, it's not bad design or anything but i don't like it
though it is cool how it's a completely dark tunnel so your friends just disappear from sight as they leave or get left behind
