Being nice makes people treat you better
Even if your personality is rotten
Or if you're a nuisance to be around
If you treat everyone nicely, they'll treat you kindly back

Maybe they'll get bored of your passivity and leave you alone
Or maybe they'll pick on you harder to watch you crack
But if you stay nice, you won't get hit as hard next time

You just have to be patient and continue being nice to everyone :)

That's a terrible mindset to have, "I'll compensate my flaws by putting up a facade", that will make you feel hollow to other people, like you aren't telling everything (which you aren't)
Using your true personality, even if you don't like your personality, will make the people who like you really like you. You won't have to worry about "but what if they discover the real me??" Every personality has a reason to be loved
Faking niceness won't get you anywhere, they see right through you even if you dont know it

not quite everyone. there are some people who will prey upon and exploit you, so make sure you protect yourself against them instead of just being nice to them and hoping for the best. but do give people a chance instead of assuming they're one of those types.

>>12985046
that would be nice if that was true, but for some of us masking (some of the time and/or to some extent) is the only way to get along with others. people are a lot less interested in authenticity than you think, at least unless and until they actually care to get to know you, which often enough they do not. you have to tailor your strategy to the circumstances.

I think being nice, it is easy to be taken advantage of or even for people not to believe someone is so nice and feel threatened
What I will say is follow your gut on other's intentions and be nice, but prioritizing your mental health in any nice way you can is never selfish
Just some tips from a fossil who has been pretty hurt by being nice

Your fortune: Average Luck

Be polite to everyone, not nice. People get suspicious of people who are nice all the time. Polite works on everyone.
>>
>>12985137
But being polite *is* nice! Because you are respecting that person with your politeness and that will make them feel nice which is nice
>>12985046
Faking niceness sounds like something a ruder would do! But I think being really truly nice can't be faked because that's something that is true inside of you, it comes from really caring about the other people aroudn you and being brave enough to do nice thing to make them smile. Rudes can act nice but the only one they care if who is smiling is them!!
