Why do people in crazy videos always make this gesture?>two hands joined behind head>fingers interlinked>leaning backwardsIs there a biological cause, and if so what?>pic: supposedly from a russian fighter plane crash in Moscow, today, 28 august 2025, Gregorian calendar
>>16769026Empathic mirroring.
>>16769026some thoughts:>two hands joined behind head>fingers interlinkedprotects the head>leaning backwardsstarts moving away from the surprise>two hands joined behind head>fingers interlinked>leaning backwardsmakes breathing easier, you can see athletes doing this when trying to catch their breath
LOL....now Im looking for it and see it more often.
The NPC "Jesus took the wheel so recline and watch" pose.
>>16769026Clutches the cerebellum responsible for short term memory which is for this case short-term, hi-impact stress.t. I am not a neuroscientist but I do know that smell is related to memory through a demonic pact.
>>16769065>admitting you have no current ability to assist with or influence ongoing events is NPCI think you may be a bit stupid. Oh, wait, it's a fucking namefag.
>>16769086>admittingThat implied self awareness, and that it isnt a subconscious reflex during an empathetic mirroring response (passion's root meaning is suffering, com-passion means to suffer together).Nope. Automaton-Jesus-reflex is scientifically sound.
>>16769026My crackpot evolutionary psychology take on it is a warning-of-catastrophe reflex: By adopting this pose, you instinctively drop any tools, loot or prey you gathered and are unburdened to run. It's triggered by horrific events which you may need to run from (but not now, you can be fascinated by them), but certainly not fight them (Because they're too large of a scale). Your hands are now free, you put them visibly on your head to warn tribespeople behind you that danger is in front and they should approach carefully. Note that there is an instinctual barrier to run past someone doing the "oh jesus" gesture, a way the body asks "are you sure about what you are going to do?", the surpassing of which enables heroism. As you see, perfectly reasonable.
Do other primates perform this gesture?

I am vexed.

i have never done this pose. does it mean i am a sentient being?
>>16769095>impliedSelf awareness is turned off, not on, namefaggot.
>>16769026The Chris Watts interrogation video Jim can't swim explained it. It's something people do when they're experiencing acute stress. That posture helps slow your heartrate down or something idk.
>>16769026Need to boost signal

>>16769026Violent scene hurts head just like violent head trama so physical support of the head is necessary.

>>16769026>horrific eventsHold mein Bier, first responders do not stand around like idiots...
>>16769426Seems to happen quite a bit at sporting events.
>>16769594>front of the headIs this a distinct gesture, or the same thing just adapted for sitting down?
>>16769396>Self awareness is turned offHow can someone admit something to themselves if self awareness is turned off?Automantic (NPC) Empathic (Jesus) response (impulse).>>16769426>That posture helps slow your heartrate downWhy would an animal want to slow its heartrate when raising it increases bloodflow for a fight or flight scenario? Thats like saying "Its self soothing when raising alertness". Contradictory insticts.
>>16769604Probably a space thing as fully spreading out in a crowd would annoy others. With more space, the "Surrender Cobra", as it is called in sports, becomes wider.
>>16769657More instances, including front, side, and back of head.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl79vQvOjqA
>>16769648>Why would an animal want to slow its heartrate when raising it increases bloodflow for a fight or flight scenario? Thats like saying "Its self soothing when raising alertness". Contradictory insticts.Seems like that reaction typically happens after the initial shock has passed (perhaps quickly) and there is no longer an immediate threat. The initial shock causes adrenaline to spike, along with all of its side effects. Having a way to calm all that down, once the higher brain says the threat is no longer immediate, would be beneficial.
>>16769026The finger interlinking aspect is just that it locks and you can relax you your arms.
>>16769026>>fingers interlinkedThat's abnormal.
>>16769546Hehe. Keep putting in that good work, Moneyman. I'm proud of you.
>>16769657>surrender cobragood name for it. have you noticed a racia difference in propensity towards surrender cobra?
>>16769937I haven't noticed a difference but I've never looked for it either. The video I posted primarily shows white people doing it but there are some non-whites in it too. If it is a way of self regulating, then perhaps certain demographic groups are better at using it for that purpose than others.
It's called the Anatoly effect.
>>16769026it allows you to hyperfocus by gathering more light and sound along with all the benefits like head support, easy breathingYou body is trying to figure out if this is something to worry about because it might be far away now but the problem might come for you next so knowing whether or not it was a one time issue is worth finding out
>>16769119Underrated answer.Do monkeys pose like that? I guess they do. The small South-East Asian ones.
>>16770664it's not going to apply to non-bipedal creatures, monkeys would be better served having their hands ready to push off the ground/branch and screeching the danger screech to communicate with the troop.
>>16769263lmao it hides behind the smaller ones
>>16770256I don’t like the fact I had to Google this
>>16769084>Clutches the cerebellum responsible for short term memory which is for this case short-term, hi-impact stress.I've always thought it was funny that when we have emotional distress we tend to clutch or stroke our heads. It's like our ape brains are conflating reality and mental states
>>16769026>Is there a biological causeyes> and if so what?idk, you can literally see monkeys do it all the timei figure it taps into some kind of rigor mortis thingor if you are more fag inclined you could say it has to do with the body opening up the chest by spreading the shoulders and arms back to increase chest/lung capacity in preparation for deeper and more breaths which cause euphoria to help cope with shockand locking the legs to support the torso from 1: suddenly becoming top heavy and unbalanced because more weight has shifted above the shoulders but hasn't really moved outward which would normally be used to stabilize. and 2: because as you get high from increased oxygen your body will sway, you can kinda see this response with fent tards doubled over, their upper body is incapable of holding its self up but the legs will either be straight or slightly bent and carrying the torso and stop it from falling over.
>>16771542In most cases, at least initially, there is an opening of the mouth. From my own observations, I've never seen someone hyperventilating while doing the surrender cobra. That's more of a hands on the hips type of thing.
>>16769026It showecases your body so that the superior force that caused what you are seeing will likely find you sexually desirable and spare you.
I think it's just something to do with surprise, whether quick or slowly processwhen someone scares you, you'd jump and grab your head in some kind of defense position in a similar way
To keep their minds from blowing up... Isn't it obvious?
