ROFL

LMFAO

here's ur redpill kid: STEMcels successfully bullied the entire field of psychology into a dark age wherein whoever moulds the greatest number of turds around their skeletons of misunderstood, ill-wrought software gets rewarded with a career in bullshitting even greater fools. you think the brain is a computer? It's because you don't understand either. coward
>>
i cant, but i could talk to one of my computational neuroscientist buddies in lab tomorrow
seems like a bunch of statistics, not really ab initio computation

It doesn't exist.

The theories of how the brain work are all just that--theories. There is STILL a philosophical divide on the locality of information and the interpretation of experimental results on memory and cognition.

The major void in knowledge is the synaptic cascade and how it "accesses" memory.

The other major issue is standard model is shit and there are quantum effects in the brain that still aren't fully understood.

actually much was gained if we're being realistic. a psychologist not needing any kind of medical degree is the stupidest fucking thing i've ever heard of thank god we dont take them seriously anymore.

psychiatry, alternatively, is a serious profession.

psychiatry and psychology are pseudoscience.

There is a small branch of clinical psychiatry that is an actual science because it also includes biology but this is less than 1% of all psychiatrists.

Ironically clinical psychiatrists have never ever published any papers supporting the gender ideology mythos.

Psychiatrists profit off of making up diseases as an excuse to push drugs on kids.

and here they come now; the legion of midwits, the great tragedy of the late 20th century; this lost, wandering cohort of calculators whose brains might actually be computers, who never quite manage to understand and can not figure out why, the beneficiaries in another world of a mature science of the human psyche left in ours to suffer and one day be replaced by Texas Instruments equipment. You idiots of no sincerity are an embarrassment, boldly staking claims within a mere arm's reach of your ideological hovels, the awful stench of your own upbringings reeking all the while.

here is a link to an interesting paper from the field of psychology: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3297423/pdf/nihms-359501.pdf
It was published in the popular journal "Science".
Nothing stands to be gained from such work? This work inspires in you incest and masturbation? This work should require a medical degree? This work is pseudoscience? You should be ashamed to call yourselves scientists.

there's nothing wrong with comp neuro, but it can become a detriment if its all you do, and it's easy to want to make it all that you do because
>lab work is expensive
>lab work takes alot of time
>lab work is alot harder than writing code
>>
>>16770570
What am I looking at here?
>>
>>16770590
its just a diagram to help readers with understanding two widely used neural population models. the authors of the review are trying to show how the models end up having similar results despite being created differently.

They are tools to be used and discarded.

do you understand the point you're failing to make here?

And?

It's Statistical/Mathematical modeling of Brain data (EEG/ECoG/etc.), sometimes just analysis of the same.

Take a bunch of data in a CSV, put it through some Data Science stuff, and voila! Computational Neuroscience!

Using Deep Learning or Transformers also gives you better access to funds.
