Which physically impossible megastructure tickles your fancy? For me, its the humble X-Seed 4000
If I really wanted to have a real go at building anything on that scale I would invest my time researching heavily in modularity and automation of the entire building process much like China has apartment complexes that are built in factories then assembled in a few days. Can't see or think of any other way to do it within the scale of a lifetime. Also Hivecity.

Why can't we build a megastructure spaceship? We could take earth with us when we explore space.
>>16794071>We could take earth with us when we explore space.kek, better take the sun with you as well then kekmao
>>16794087>sunThere are lots of other suns out there we could use, but we haven't found another earth till now. Better to take earth with us. It's the only planet we can survive on, as far as we know.
>>16794127we can't get from our sun to the other sun without the earth becoming a bad planet to survive on
>>16793703>physically impossible megastructureIt is and will always be a ringworld.Unfortunately very very very few artists can draw anything that looks more than a few kilometers wide at most.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR2296df-bc
>>16794507dont put the fucking star in the middle, let the ringworld orbit a star.
>>16794498That's not a big problem in the future. We are already testing sun reactors. We can build our own sun and take it with us. We don't need this useless fireball anymore.
Our space fleet is quite impressive. Something right out of a star seeds head.Don't you think we'll reduce all problems to zero with our orbital fleet?Or do you still believe in King Charles circumcision bullshit?
>>16794498>buy a massive obsidian spoon from ebay>scoop up enough sun for the Earthship's trip to its destinationThere, problem solved.
>>16794738Smart
>>16793703Obviously I would like to see impossibly large mega cathedrals built in order to glorify the Lord. If goat herders in the middle ages can build cologne cathedral what could we build if we dedicated a sizable portion of our resources towards it. Talking like a sizeable chunk of the GDP. I’m pretty sure if we did that God would see it in his heart to lift this chastisement that we must currently endure
>>16794851I thought he didn't want us to build too tall e.g. tower of babel
>>16794851>Talking like a sizeable chunk of the GDP.Vatikan has enough money to build it on his own. We are talking about billions here.
>>16794071>Why can'twe can, we just don't because it's pointless right now
to get something like this you need direct matter to energy conversion, and dont mention anti matter because thats a gimmick. Matter is electrically neutral on the aggregate, an atom is electrically neutral and you still cant convert it to energy, despite that not violating charge conservation. It would violate baryon number conservation, which is perceived as being a simple observation and not a real property of matter. The penrose method of using black holes for energy would give at least 40% conversion
