If I really wanted to have a real go at building anything on that scale I would invest my time researching heavily in modularity and automation of the entire building process much like China has apartment complexes that are built in factories then assembled in a few days. Can't see or think of any other way to do it within the scale of a lifetime.

Obviously I would like to see impossibly large mega cathedrals built in order to glorify the Lord. If goat herders in the middle ages can build cologne cathedral what could we build if we dedicated a sizable portion of our resources towards it. Talking like a sizeable chunk of the GDP. to get something like this you need direct matter to energy conversion, and dont mention anti matter because thats a gimmick. Matter is electrically neutral on the aggregate, an atom is electrically neutral and you still cant convert it to energy, despite that not violating charge conservation.
It would violate baryon number conservation, which is perceived as being a simple observation and not a real property of matter.
The penrose method of using black holes for energy would give at least 40% conversion
