(Don't forget the Edward Bernays dude was the nephew of Sigmund Freud, who worked extensively on the principle of subconscious mind)I remember one day some amateur hypnotist tried to do hypnosis on me but it failed, while he did manage to hypnotize my friend next to me (tricks like your fingers are "glued together", or you are "stuck" to the ground and can't get up) & his only explanation why it failed on me was that hypnosis needed a "receptive mind" to work... (Indeed I've always been told I lack attention, had my head in the clouds etc)Could it be that the difference with the general population is that they are more influenced because they have a more sustained attention span? If true, then that would mean ADHD is a form of psychic defense in todays societies where attention is a valuable resource ( especially for media & advertisers).What do psychology anons think about this?

Never heard of ADHD itself making people immune to propaganda and advertisting. Autistic people do appear to be better at resisting both, but that's far from perfect so you couldn't call it immunity. During the pandemic, some government had special propaganda aimed specifically at autistic people because the normal stuff didn't work on them. Haven't seen numbers for the effectiveness of the targeted propaganda but it probably did work better than the normie message.
