Tritium half life is 12 years, so after 24 years you have 25 percent power. Dimension your power source to the demand and you should be fine.
I have a tritium light stick that is about 10 years old, still clearly visible.

This makes me immediately think of that video of the Russian military moving a Cold War-era radio beacon powered by a Strontium-90 RTG. Crazy that the Russian solution to nuclear disasters is "more men and shovels". I think each man could handle it for 30 seconds before they had to rotate someone else in.
