It is the actual shape of the earth, it shows the imperfections from a perfect sphere dramatically increased in scale to make them obvious. The planet is a very smooth ball all things considered, shrunk down to the size of a sportsball it'd be much, much smoother and a more perfect sphere than a basketball or whatever.

But OP's image is shrunk down even smaller than most sportsballs and it still looks pretty wonky and if its not to actual scale but rather is exaggerated for effect, then it isn't the actual shape.
