Are there any breakthroughs, innovations on battery technology yet? It seems to be the one thing that's holding back major technological advancements.
>>
what major technological advancements are being held back by battery tech?

nta but
Electric cars, renewable energy, medical implants, wireless vacuum cleaners, high performance laptops, are a few extremely common types of technology suffering from the limitations of battery tech

You can buy all of those things from amazon right now.
>>
Time crystals may be used in batteries. There are concepts and propositions for using them in quantum batteries. Although no real implementions at this time. Maybe the next breakthrough?

You can buy a car from Amazon?
I didn't say these things don't exist, I said they suffer severely from the limitations of battery trch. Better battery technology will benefit all of those immensely

Anon when you have commercially viable products that most people use then they aren't being held back. They were being held back and then battery tech improved and they no longer are thus obliterating OP. Saying something like that is being held back is like saying they are being held back by bad steel or bad plastic. It's a meaningless statement. A real thing that is being held back by batter tech is something that exists but doesn't have mass market appeal because the batteries cause constraints that an average user just isn't willing to deal with. Examples of this include things like virtual reality glasses or headsets.

>Anon when you have commercially viable products that most people use
Most people use gasoline cars
Most electric power comes from fossil fuels
Most people use cable vacuums
Most people use low power GPUless laptops

Nigger, are you retarded?
For something to qualify as "being held back" doesn't mean it fails the arbitrary goalpost you set up.
It exists in shitty form.
It could be made better.
It is therefore being held back.

Clean energy storage, electric transportation

Can you name a thing that isn't being held back by that definition? If you can't then it's a worthless definition.

Alternate chemistries to avoid lithium and other rare earths is in vogue. Density seems to be plateaued so cost and lifetime are being investigated.

Silicon-carbon batteries for phones have just been brought into the market and we now have phones with 7000 mAh batteries. The Iphone 15 only has 3349 mAh battery and the Samsung Galaxy S25 only has 4000 mAh battery.

Basically phones will be able to last twice as long as before.

As energy density increases, so does the explosivity of the cells. Sulphur chemistry is a pain already.
