Is it possible that everything we know about physics is wrong, after all we know there are optical illusions on earth so why not in space. Perhaps hotter objects (stars) appear to be larger and more distant the hotter they are while the truth is that they are actually much smaller and closer than it would seem
>>16813430It's possible I'm a brain in a jar and your post is just a hallucination I'm experiencing. Not all possibilities are worth entertaining. We've sent probes quite close to the sun so we have a pretty good idea how far it is. Not to mention that managing to fuck with something as simple and verifiable as parallax would be quite an impressive feat for this physical model of yours.
>>16813430> Is it possible that everything we know about physics is wrongNo. There are gaps in our knowledge, but the stuff we know already? Not possible.

>>16813430you're right. things that are really far away are difficult to measure. we revise estimates of mass and distance all the time. the black hole TON 618 was estimated to be 66 billion solar masses but has been revised down to 40 billion. but if you mean that our entire understanding of physics is wrong (like that space is fake or whatever) then you're wrong
Absolutely. Part of the problem is that we'll never know true reality. The only thing we can do is live and impregnate as many people as possible.
>>16814345>we'll never know true reality. So how do you know this? Self-refuting garbage.
>>16814364I won't hand hold a sub 80iq whippersnapper.
>>16814371No, you're busy eating dog shit.
It's possible in principle, but from what we know now it's very unlikely.
>>16813430>physicsYou mean cosmology.Yes, it is entirely possible, for one simple reason: Nobody bounced a basketball outside the solar system. All present day mainstream cosmology are deduced under the single assumption of something called universal constant, aka earthly physics as we know is constant across the universe. But in realty for all we know the physics we are used to are only present in this part of the local space and everywhere else it's unironically marvel tier magic chaos.
