I just finished my b.sc degree in biz from rwth aachen. Im now enrolling in math and the biz m.sc program.just for fun and interest tho not for better jobs (i work as delivery driver). what are the scientific implications of degreemaxxing?
He studied for so long. And not a single STEM degree! He could have learned all kinds of math, physics, chemistry, biology in that time. He could have truly approached an all-encompassing understanding of the world. Instead: urban planning twice? Seriously? What a waste.
>>16816013>MA in politics of education>Master of design (lmao, what?) in urban planning and real estate>MA in coexistence and conflict>Doctor of design (LMFAO, WHAT?!) in urban planning and real estate>A fucking masters of science in REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENTCan anyone justify any of these "degrees" being in way shape or form "academic"? American universities are a joke.
As for you anon, I suggest starting from the most abstract math, and then go on to take theoretical physics. I think that's the most you can get out of the university education at undergrad level.
>>16816047>theoretical physicsthats a bit jewish and unproductive>abstract mathi like math rooted in reality. applied math, diff eqs, optimization, stats, shit i can use in my trading algos.
>>16816046>being this cluelessas if real state wasn't one of the most proffitable sectors
>>16816049Many traders are physicists by undergrad. I'm not sure what you call productive, didn't you say it's for fun and interest? I can guarantee you it's more fun, interesting, enlightening than anything else.
>>16816051>Muh money>Muh profitFucking Jew.
>>16816052>I'm not sure what you call productive,Advanced theoretical physics seems like a circle jerk that produces nothing of value, only existing to provide unproductive jobs for autistic people and extract funds from taxpayers. The same goes for highly abstract mathematics.Take string theory or perfectoid spaces, for example. Thats why im more interested in the applied math stuff, optimization, data science, operations research etc.
>>16816051I don't think doing endless degrees in urban planning is how you make money in real estate though.
>>16816013I'm thinking a master's in creative writing might be a fun activity for the week.
>>16816013Yeah im considering continued education to fill up my weekends and have more projects to do and credentials to show for.
>>16816061>I want to produce nothing of value>No I don't want to do that thing. It produces nothing of value.
>>16816013rwth aachen employed the scumbag Gerhard Hiss that screwed with Igor Pak. I have really low opinion on that place.https://igorpak.wordpress.com/2014/09/12/how-not-to-reference-papers/Egregious academic dishonesty.
>>16816274>PakIs he related to Tupac by any chance?
>>16816274>Egregious academic dishonesty. You're wrong. The school is an elite educational institution.
>>16816274aight i let chatgpt summarize igors blogpost. So basically a couple rwth aachen nerds ganged up on my nigga, took his shiet and now hes blackpilled about academia... Well Igor you fuckin nigger if you had browsed this mongolian basket weaving forum you wouldnt have needed to spend a decade in academia before realizing its all fake and gay, you fokin retard.Igor Pak dropped a blog rant exposing how a clique of computational group theory academics hijacked credit for his and Bratus’ 2000 paper. Their algorithm came first, but the “in-group” published a near-identical one later, pretended theirs was superior, and systematically buried Pak’s work in citations. When Pak complained, the *Journal of Algebra* editor (a buddy of the accused authors, also from their university) brushed him off and told him to “leave it at that.” Pak basically concluded that academic referencing is rigged — it’s not about truth or merit, but about networks, politics, and who you drink wine with at Oberwolfach.
>>16816049>abstract mathabstract math is rooted in reality tho.I'm saying this as an undergrad econ student.I had the same mindset of applied stuff until I found an easier way to find the functional form of bellman equation just using simple inequalities lmao. >theoretical physicstheoretical physics is the backbone of any stochastic calculus you apply to financial market.fokker planck helps propagation of uncertainty under brownian motion. same goes with idk chapman kolmogorov equations in discrete time setting. None of this dudes were finance guys.calculus of variations is the most applied shit in control theory which stems from 16. century physics as well.Whatever. Just add transaction costs as an absolute value to your merton portfolio optimization problem and see how non-differentiability fucks your ass just by a small non-smooth function.
>>16816013>>16816041I know of one professor in my country that is known for having achieved the highest degree which is sufficient to become a tenured professor in nearly all academic disciplines, including maths, physics, biology, chemistry, history, philosophy, medicine, law, etc. the guy was nearly 70 years old when he was all finished, and died soon afterwards
>>16816013Holy shit it's Kintaro Oe
>>16817985>in my countryLet me guess, one of those shithole country with no actual tenure system? And you just used the word "tenure" without understanding what it means?
>>16817985Did he make any notable contributions to science?
